Well it's nice to know there's so many conspiracy nuts on this board, I'm expecting Alex Jones to pop up any minute to decry the lizard jews news people who want to keep us down but we'll rise up and stop the frogs from turning gay. It's a news story, so the news people will run news stories so people click on their news stories until the next news story comes up. It's people filling pages so they dont get fired, thats it.

Oh and i mean the mad racist bloated racist **** from America, not the lovely at times irritatingly chirpy welsh lady from Wales.

Well, to be fair, Martin Samuel is drunk on our children's blood, god damn it.

I dunno. If I were Man Utd I'd be doing everything in my power to get Poch. He's exactly the right fit for them in basically every way I can think of.

But you could say this for any club in the world that wanted to build a project from the ground up, which could be any club at any time which is why I have grown to detest this saying about him being the perfect fit for them!

In reply to Paolo, No we didn’t. He was preparing to leave because they were selling off their assets and sacking Cortese. Les Reed said on the debate that Poch acted with dignity and never let the situation affect his running of the team. He still gave his full attention to his job despite being unhappy. When levy approached saints he was respectful and above board and was negotiating all the time with Southampton before being allowed to talk to Poch. Straight from a Southampton employee. He also thinks Poch will stay.

Fuck Manure, fuck the press and the prats like Neville.

Next year I will sit in the best stadium in the league with all its creature comforts while Man U fans sit in that cramped, ageing dump more likely in the rain.

And this will be in London, not irrelevant Manchester.

No one should spoil the great strides this club is, has and will make.

Regardless, it’s exciting times ahead.

Never forget that !

So the only thing different is that Tottenham aren't allowing an approach? Who's to say that this wont result in a different reaction from Poch?

Less than evens at the moment to be United's manager for the first game of next season (I'd lay that bet if some of you are as confident as you appear...personally I wouldn't).

I would hope that Levy is making or has made some big promises to Poch about being able to compete and being able to spend, but historically that's probably delusional.

7/4 or 6/4 are the most common prices.

Was discussing the possibility of Poch going to Utd today with some Utd fans. They kept on about he could have a transfer kitty of £200+ million if he went there and he'd come back for all the best Spurs players.........I pointed out that £200m isn't really that much in the scheme of buying ready developed players, as it might just about stretch to buy a Kane.........then what? £200m spent and still no Eriksen or Ali etc...

The sort of transfer kitty they talk about is great in principle, but if he were to come back for the players he already has then he'd spend it all on one player!

Fuck carra, fuck Neville, fuck sky, fuck the times, fuck all of the football press and media. All they want is to drive Poch off, all while they undermine OGS, who no matter how well he does it won't be good enough. Disrespectful to us as a club, our manager, staff, fans and the new temporary Utd boss OGS.

I pray Levy decides to ban all journos from pressures and only allows interviews through official Spurs channels.

I know I said to just ignore it, but I didn't think they would stoop this low and in a matter of days.

I suspect if Poch were to leave (I highly doubt it) then there would be some kind of agreement between both clubs for them not to pursue our players for maybe a year? or perhaps longer say two years - I dont know

My point is that £200m or £300m won't be enough to get Utd's squad to where he is at Spurs currently. Utd have some fantastic players, but the players that aren't fantastic are pretty mediocre.

I disagree. Our squad is what it is because of Poch. Most of these same players were as shit as the current Man Utd squad before he walked in.

That’s why they want him, he improves players. Give poch a season with Rashford, Martial, Lingard, Bailey, Shaw etc he would have them top 4 and pushing for the title.

That’s why we can’t afford to let him go there

He didn't walk into this squad though. He walked into a squad of capoue, paulinho, kaboul, chiriches, adebayour, lennon etc... he had to have the backing of kane, mason and levy etc... to change the club.

Would utd back him to turf pogba, sanches etc...?

That’s an unfair comparison, the two Utd players you mentioned at £50 million plus players and Pogba close to £100.

Those tottenham players were £15/20 million players. I’m sure he could work with Pogba and Sanchez because he would let them play like he does Dele and Son etc.

I thought kane, eriksen, lamela, lloris, Rose, vertonghen, and dembele were also there.

Yes because Man Utd have a strong history of honoring our wishes when we say hands off our players....

Point is though that the Man Utd board stick their noses into everything these days unlike when Fergie was running it. Now they micromanage the manager and he has to pick tactics around the players they want to play etc. It really wouldn't suit him and like every other manager other than a very lucky yes man, he would get sacked in a year.

Yeah, I'm not sure he's actually a perfect fit for them at all.

Would they accept a midfield of Mason and Bentaleb? Do they have youth players of the requisite quality and mentality to come into the team? If not they need to make signings, so is Pochettino adept at signing players at the level they'll require and adapting them to his approach?

They presumably want to win things, is Pochettino a proven winner? Has he mastered big games?

Of course he has many attributes that they'd need but not all (at least he's not shown them yet). When you look at their situation, Klopp is a far more appropriate choice.
