Does anyone know when 'the end' is? What does that mean? Until he retires? Is that the end? Or is it when he walks away? Could that be the end? Perhaps he means he's started watching Game of Thrones and will stick with us until 'the end' of that? It's a bit vague and TBH could mean anything. I suspect it's just something he said without putting as much thought into it as we would all like to think.

Ally Gold just reported the part of the news conference that was embargoed until this evening.

Poch explains a bit more, and it reads rather well... :)

*it’s cryptic as fuck, as usual tbf!

When Poch looks at the crowd that's going to turn up against Watford he might think why am I bothering. Yes no one likes Wembley but we have no alternative so we have to make the best of a bad job , the team needs support but the ticket sales for a team sitting in third place in PL are pathetic.

Yeah I had intended not to go tomorrow due to work and the missus already wanting to kill me for not being around enough, but I'm going to get a late ticket. Poch and the boys need supporting.

Just read it and this stuck out like a sore thumb:

"Of course, it is a massive disappointment for everybody. First of all for Daniel and the board, that they cannot deliver the job on time. Then you can see for our fans at Wembley every week that things are going down and down and down because people are disappointed with the situation.

"And of course, that affects the team and everybody. That is why it is my responsibility to be positive and optimistic. My job is to call to the fans to give the last push that we need. The club needs the help of the fans because they are the core and the soul of the club and this is a massive moment.

"I know I can't ask for more, but all together we need the last push to finish in the top four or maybe be a real contender. Then, playing in the Champions League is an exciting moment for the club."

He knows we, the fans, are down on Wembley, but they need us to be behind them more than ever.

He also speaks about how we were told we needed CL to attract top players, but now we're in it and yet we'll have trouble keeping our top players. Poch is a smart, smart man who knows exactly what is going on.

I repeat again the need to actually take note of his press conferences, especially via this link and Ally Gold who gets the full picture and no cutting out of quotes or out of context quotes.

I would jump off a cliff if he told me to

If you read Poch's press conference, he can't be any clearer about his intent and the club's intent. They are playing a long term game and willing to sacrifice short term results to do so. The fact that he compares Spurs to Real Madrid, rightly or wrongly, shows a clear vision that they are intent on creating a global powerhouse and not a perennial bobber in the EPL. LOL. In reading through it a second time, it sounds like he has been reading SC and responding directly to some of the expressed angst. You can argue about the club and his strategy (which sound as if they are in lockstep) but his commitment is very clear.

the most annoying about it though is in a lot of his press comments, he mentions his relationship with Levy. yet if they are on such good terms why hasn't Levy told him that as an investment company we intend to sell at the 1st opportunity as some SC members have brought up.

he left Southampton partly to the Cortese issue. if he knows we intend to possibly change owners with no guarantee he will have a job under them, or even like them, why did he turn down the RM job, or start dampening down the Manure job, and sign a new contract.

he mentions about the project? but surely that project is with ENIC, a new company might have a different project.

All I know is I like this project, yes would be great to get some silver where, but unlike some don't understand winning a cup requires some luck, which includes the draw, or his players not making errors that cost us. it's not Poch can't get us over the line, it's the players on the day costing us. he doesn't operate the players with a game stick while sitting on the bench.

after reading another 3 or 4 articles from @Allygold (y) we have massive issues with the HG situation. we can't dump Vorm at the moment as they don't want to chuck Vorm in the hot seat if both are ill or injured. because UEFA have different rules for HG we don't have the luxury or including Davies or Dier.

we won't sell Llorente this window because of the injury to Harry. we won't sign another foreign player to replace Dembele, because Poch has promised Foyth the squad place as he has had to miss out due to the UEFA ruling.

the summer there is 2 spots to fill for definite as Vorm and Llorente will be going

KWP is a RB! I know he plays there for England unders etc. That is not his position. Certain aspects of his convictions on certain players, to the demise of others. His stubbornness on reluctance on suggested signings, and sticking with what we have. This is my gripe and opinion.

but we never had a fully fit LB and he was our best option at the time or using him on the right, and someone from the U23's instead. had we done that and still lost he would of still been slaughtered

hopefully the Weather will mean a postponement and hopefully QPR or Portsmouth do a giant killer on them, if Palace stroll past Doncaster and we can re-arrange it as a possible stadium opener:whistle:

Levy lucked out big time with Poch. Really hope Daniel appreciates what he has, and is actually genuinely willing to take the club to the next level that Poch talks about.

Actually, wasn't there a BBC interview a little while back where he said that Game of Thrones was his favourite show...?

EDIT: Yep, I was right. Here's the link:

To be honest mate I am a little concerned over the finances but I never expected us to sign anyone this month for obvious reasons, meanwhile I think we maybe in for a difficult summer perhaps 1/2 of our better players will be off as we need to raise funds for a couple in.
It will be as usual a long dragged out affair probably not securing anyone until the last week and I certainly won't be expecting much from the team but hey we are used to it by now nothing will ever change.:)

This was my point the other day. People can turn up when we play Man I but can’t be bothered when we play Watford. We look a bit silly taking the piss out of arsenal fans for not turning up to games now.

You cannot forget the factor that is Wembley in attendance figures. United at Wembley on paper is a much better prospect than a Watford (no disrespect meant to them). Let's not forget the hassle Wembley is to get to, especially for a midweek fixture. Had both games been at the new ground, both would be sold out. There are many factors to consider when thinking about Wembley attendances. Such as tourists. They want to see the big games at Wembley, they won't pay to see Watfird unless desperate and not able to do a top 6 game. Often this season the announcement of Wembley has been short notice, so many who work, have families etc can't suddenly turn around and go.

I think Poch is exactly the manager Levy has always been looking for but yes, also extremely lucky to have him.

That’s my point. Support the team, doesn’t matter who we are playing.

I was agreeing with that, however there are other factors other than the opposition. Tourists go to Wembley, it's a midweek fixture and it's hard enough to get to on a good weekend. Fans are disillusioned with Wembley and that also plays a part.
