I don't get why people wouldn't want to watch this(obviously not pay for it). I think its going to be hugely entertaining. Luckily im on a night shift that I think ill finish around 5...:).

Exactly. I'm really looking forward to it.

Just trying to work out if it's better to stay up all night or go to bed and get up at 4am,

I'm saying if even lasts 6 rounds then it's because Floyd decides it's going that long, let alone Connor winning! Excuses don't need to be made at all. McGregor would get absolutely destroyed by the British champion at this weight. How on earth does he win? There's no case to be made at all for him winning other than Floyd allowing it to happen ( with an eye on a rematch, hence a fix ) or if Floyd suffers a serious injury in the fight.

Anything other than Floyd by TKO within 4 rounds suggests fix to me. Making it look more competitive than it is etc
If there's no fix in place, McGregor is done early, either pulled out after suffering too much or Floyd takes him out after numerous knockdowns.

How so? Floyd rarely wins by knockout, why would he be able to knockout someone who takes knee and elbows to the face on a regularly basis and doesn't get knocked out? Don't see the logic which states that Mayweather will knock him out while wearing 8oz gloves. If he wins on points then fine, but I think McGregor will surprise a lot of people. Malignaggi has already been humiliated and is desperately trying to save face, will be funny when the full 12 rounds of his sparring are released.

There are a few pubs showing it round my way so trying to decide whether to go out for it or watch it at home! Should be a great atmosphere out but also a strong chance that I will have absolutely no recollection of the fight when I wake up tomorrow (n)

Mayweather will win because he's got nothing to prove. Everyone McGregor has faced and beaten has been trying to prove themselves, climb the ladder, etc. - when he's come up against fighters who have already established themselves, he's not done so well.

Mayweather can concentrate on beating him without the worry of having to promote anything at all.

Im too fucking old for drinking till that sort of time nowadays, I'm normally up between 7 and 8 so it's only a couple of hours after it's finished, I'll watch it with a coffee and a bacon sarnie.

Did Diaz have much to prove in their second fight?

Maybe, but once you've already beaten someone, it's like them shouting, "Best three out of five!" in some cases, which i believe it was here. If Mcgregor had won first time out he'd be booking his next fight before anyone could've even mumbled rematch, but Mcgregor had to get over that hurdle - not a sleight on him at all, a compliment in fact, that he's so driven by the targets he sets himself, but from Diaz's side of the fence he will always have the argument that he's been there and done that once. Doesn't drive you like revenge.

I'm too old for it as well but I still give it a go now and then, without much success I might add

How has Malignaggi been humiliated exactly? I really don't understand that. He's retired, coming off the beach and apparently still managed to go a full 12 in an alleged hard spar, of which ten seconds of footage were released. Aside from the countless holes that exist in the mythical 'McGregor fucked Malignaggi up' tale, maybe just maybe Malignaggi is next in line for a McGregor fight...would make a cracking story wouldn't it?

Floyd would stop him because he would hit him virtually at will, with shots McGregor wouldn't see coming. Throw in bodyshots and hey presto, suddenly you have McGregor taking all kinds of punishment. Diaz had McGregor rocked by punches. Mayweather is a hundred times more accurate. The shots that take their toll are the ones you don't see. Mayweather can hit him whenever he wants, he also hits plenty hard enough, it's just that at elite level, boxers tend to be harder to stop ( better defences, better chins etc ) McGregor isn't anything like an elite level boxer. Throw in McGregor missing with 99% of everything he throws and suddenly he's in deep, deep waters.

There's just too many reasons for Mayweather to win, and win easily. Anything else is just absurd to be honest, and I fully respect MMA and Connor in MMA. This isn't Boxing v MMA, this is a world class boxer vs a novice boxer. The stances are completely different, no face first square on wrestlers running at you just serving their chin up, in a boxing ring.
As I've said many times before, the British champ would wipe the floor with McGregor in a boxing ring. Malignaggi would run rings around him in a proper bout and he's washed up.

The only way it ends in anything other than an extremely convincing and easy win for Floyd is if he allows it.

You don't think 2 years out of the ring and 10 years age difference will count for anything? It will be very interesting to see if Mayweather has lost any of his speed over the last couple of years which is the main chance I think McGregor has

It's fucked how late these fights are. Hanging out with my mates with the intention of going g home well before the fight so I'm not completely fucked for my kids and Wembley tomorrow, but then I'll be so battered by 3am I'll obviously stay and watch it and get home at 8am

I love McGregor. His persona is hilarious and he's an incredible talker. But he is going to get wiped the floor with tonight. Its not even gonna be close Floyd will toy with him for a few rounds then just finish him off, that way they both save face. Mayweather, as dull as he is, is still a great boxer. Yeah, he's aging and yeah he's likely lost a step but Conor still has no chance here. But letting it go a few rounds will help Conor save face and not completely destroy the hype around Conor and not ruin the PPV buys of Conor's next UFC fight. This is just a way for Conor, Floyd and the UFC to get money. And they will get alot of it, to the tune of $200m to Floyd, $100m to Conor and $35m to the UFC. In reality though, this is just an early appetizer to the real main event in a few weeks, Canelo v GGG.

Ended up going halves on it on box office with my missus' brother in law. They live round the corner from us so he's coming round to watch.

I have zero interest in either boxing or MMA and personally don't really like McGregor at all. But as a spectacle I want to watch and see how it pans out.

Plus I've got 20 quid on the draw at 45/1. This fight has made so much money it wouldn't shock me if it ended in a draw so they have to organise a rematch

I'm at home! Would much rather be at a house than a cramped pub or something where you definitely won't get a seat and it will be overly cramped.
