Robbie Keane says thank you to all of you who voted for him as SC's player of the season!
So yesterday we were lucky enough to go to the Spurs training ground (theat's myself, Stoof and NTG). We met up quite early and headed down to the training ground for about 12.30pm.
We attempted to drive in but we told to park in the second level car park - to be fair I don't thing the Almera would have felt at home amongst the Ferrari's, Aston Martin's, Porsche's and 4x4s!! We signed in and waited for our 'host' to come and greet us. Whilst waiting none other than Wipey came driving past - he even had time for a wave. :hello:
We were taken in to the reception area where we were left to wait for a while, it gave us time to have a little look about - and whilst doing so we saw a few players walking to their cars as training had finished! They included Woody, Robbo, Steed, and Hutton. Whilst we were sitting there, Mr Poyet walked in! He said hi and asked if we were ok. We, in turn sat there like gobsmacked kids which was quite bizarre! In hindsight, a picture might have been a good idea
We were then taken to the area where players are interviewed for the press (it's a walkway area between the gym and the canteen). Here we waited for about 20 mins, during which time we nabbed Jamie O'Hara, JJ, Lennon, Alvarez, and Bale.
I personally found everyone to be very nice! We asked Bale about his leg and he said that he would be back in at pre-season, he was certainly walking fine. Jamie O'Hara was just a lovely guy, Lennon and JJ are like two rudeboys lol. Both were happy to have a pic taken etc!! Marcos Alvarez was really nice, he commented one the (bad) English Weather.
Then, in true Berba style Mr Berbatov strolled past with a severe swagger!! He just oozed coolness; dressed in smart atire with sunglasses. He was pretty focussed on whereever he was headed and may have been pissed off that Robbie had taken his crown as SC player of the year. :shhh: ok maybe not.
Then Robbie came over, he was very polite and seemed very grateful for the trophy!! He read the enscription and was more than happy to pose for pics and sign too. He had a little banter with us - he was very friendly and casual! He just seemed so relaxed, and asked us to say a big thank you to everyone on the website who voted for him! I told him how many votes he'd won by and he did seem pretty chuffed!
After we said our goodbyes  Robbie left and Gilberto was nearby. He was such a gent and even took his hat off when we asked for a pic  Ramos also walked past, he was with some PR people and looked busy but he was having it explained to him that we were from a fan website!
We explained to the PR people all about the site, they seemed very interested in what we do on here and about all the members and so on.
Should anyone from Tottenham be reading - thank you for a great day!
I've just added my pics here as Stoof and NTG will be writing up their own 'reports' on the day:
