what type of wages are the top earners on out our club?

How far short would the top end of our clubs wage structure to what the likes of Joe Cole would demand?

Cole would be a fantastic signing I think, although I cannot see it happening (neither do I think we will sign anyone from Chelsea this window)

Rumoured to be Keane and Woodgate on about £75-80k. Most first teamers at Chelsea are on at least £100k a week.

I would love to have Joe Cole at the club.
Dont rate Malouda, much rather have Modric on the left.
Carvalho wouldnt join us.

There might be a cast off or two at City. Richards has been under threat, although his defending has been 'headless chicken' esque at times. If we get rid of a striker or two Sturridge would be a great signing, really impresses me that lad.

But to be honest, J.Cole is the only player I think would be worth going after. Our team is good, showed some good consistency at the end of the season, just needs a couple of players who bring something different to the table.

although we took cudicini from CFC - generally they've been reluctant to let us have players

maybe things have changed

some of city's cast offs could be good - though I can't think of any realistically ATM - maybe richards in a while?

depends on wages of course - and much else besides

Chelsea spend nearly 3 times what we do on wages(53m/149m). They even outspend United by nearly 30m.

They probably average near 100k per player, since Terry, Lampard and Ballack are on 130k, whilst most seem to be around the 80-90k bracket. I don't think any of our players get near that.

To Chelsea. Demanded 75k a week from City and was offered nearer 45-55k, which wasn't enough for him.

I guess we tend to paint them all with thesame brush as some of these players that only go for the money. It may well be that some of them may well sacrifice wages for regular first team football to push them into their respective national teams, also the likes of Cole & Lampard must have spoken about Harry as they know him very well.
So you never know, anything can happen hell Keane came back did'nt he? how many of you thought bollox when it was first mentioned?

Moluda only turns up at the last quater of the season, I dont think he'd want to come to spurs either it would be a huge step backwards for him.

Talking about cast-offs i have one in mind. Maybe we should try hargreaves. He seems to be unheard of over at man united nowadays. Then everyone could forget about Barry!

Yeah he has been mentioned in another thread but I think someone said he was injury prone and too old

I was wondering today if we could take advantage of some of the cast offs created by the spending of the established and new mega rich?

Chelsea look like they are really going to go for it this window with strong links to Yuri Zhirkov and Kaka.

That would mean the end of the road for Malouda and possibly Ballack at Chelsea.

I know both are a little rich for our blood but Ballack is getting on a bit and Malouda's stock has fallen at Chelsea.

Failing that, Barry going to Shitty may mean that De Jong or Kompany or both are looking for another club.

Am I living in dream land or could we land a few castoffs with prem experience that will give us a leg up?

You only watch Spurs don't you?

Malouda has been one of the positives for Chelsea this season, especially the second half.

it's madrid you should be looking at for cast offs. most of them are young as well so won't be on ridiculous wages

The main exits from Madrid are likely to be the Dutch contingent who are all on pretty stupid money. Can't honestly see any salary bargains coming from there.

A few of potential cast-offs i could think of who would be useful for us.
Hargreaves
Michael Johnson
Elano
Joe Cole
Diarra from Real Madrid
Muntari
Balotelli from Inter Milan

just a few i could think of that we could get if we try probably.
