The evidence:

- Incredible discipline against an AC Milan side on top form at the San Siro. Outplayed them and stood up to all the gamesmanship they threw at us.

- We are 2nd place in the away table (using points per game - the best way to measure progress) with a goal difference of 0! This proves that we score the goals that matter and defend well when we need to.

- We are on a wonderful run from the last 13 league games, again with a very average goal difference.

- Massive comeback against Inter.

- When the heat was really on at the tale end of last season we were wonderful against Chelsea, Arsenal and City.

We have been putting paid to all those bad records against top teams. The one that we still need to finish off is the Man U record but in every other respect we face everyone with incredible confidence and mental strength.

Funny you should say this. I always thought that we were going to win the Sunderland and Bolton games we just seemed stronger and had more belief.
Hopefully now we can use the winning becomes a habit cliche.

A big plus has been Gallas.

What a signing he has been. Immense.

And yet we have such a young team. The potential has been in this team for several years now, but Harry has provided the missing ingredients of belief and mental strength

bringing in proven winners like VdV and Gallas has helped a ton. They have seen and experienced the ups and downs and don't back down from an AC Milan team that is playing dirty at the San Siro. We have no reason to fear any team at any stadium in the world.

We are also grinding out results with a patchwork lineup while having hardly any goals from the strikers. A total team effort.

Think the difference was highlighted by comparing the first 30mins at the San Siro yesterday to the first thirty vs Inter. There is no fear anymore.

Blackpool will be a massive test!

It really is, as it will not be easy for our lads to go from the heights of winning in the San Siro to playing on a rainy night in Blackpool, let's hope we can go there and get a vital win moving us into third

Bizarrely, I would change as much of the team as possible from tonight. Going to be really hard for this 11 to get themselves motivated again. I'd like starts for Pav, Defoe, Jenas, Niko, Modric etc

Definitely. I think beating Inter at the lane has helped the players realise that they belong on this stage, and that not only can they compete with the best... they can beat them :)

The motivation for whoever plays against Blackpool is simple, if the players want more nights like last night, must also keep winning against the likes of Blackpool who are on a poor run.

There is a mental toughness which I've never seen from a Spurs team which is great but I also think it's down to the quality we now have in our squad.

With the injury's we've had, look at the team that went out and how they played, amazing and fantastic at the same time..

It is scary to see such a composed and assured display from a Spurs team. We looked like CL masters not first year novices. This clearly got to the Milan players especially Flamini and Gattuso (who should be drug tested). It also got to their fans. Check out their Forum the Red and Black Forum and read the match thread. It's quality!

Weirdly it feels vey un-tottenham like :)

But, we'll see how much mental strength we have this weekend with our league game, and the return leg.

Lets not bottle them now.

Definitely. I would hate for any of this to go to our heads so that we end up losing at Blackpool next week or blowing the second leg. But perhaps that is the old spurs and maybe we fearful few that have been following this club for many years need to re-acclimatise our mind set.

Perhaps last night was a change in the psyche of the club as a whole. Perhaps last night means that "we belong" (to quote my son). Let's hope so. We saw signs of it last season during our run in when we beat Arsenal, Chelsea and then that night at City. maybe now it is ingrained in the club. Long may it continue.
