This should be in the general football section, unless you think ozil at his peak would join a Europa standard side?

We're not a 'Europa standard side' though, we're a CL standard side currently playing in the Europa because we happen to play in the toughest league in Europe from which to get CL football. Oh...and 2 seasons in the last 4 we have finished in the CL places.

edit- Am not saying I think this will happen!!

I agree with above, that Ozil is one of the best ACM's in the world. Götze is close (in Europe). I cannot believe Ancelotti won't want him in his starting lineup and if not perhaps Özil wants out / home.

Signing him is out of the question, but if through some bizarre set of circumstance we signed him, we really would only be a LB away from a title challenging squad (assuming Lamela) goes through.

He is absolutely superb at his role. Short passes, long passes, through balls, crosses, dribbling, close control are all second nature
to him. IF the Man Utd story were true (which I doubt) I don't believe anyone would turn him down,

Moyes wouldn't know what to do with him, besides he has Kagawa so he doesn't need an Ozil type player.

It's ridiculous that because of Perez' ego an outstanding player is being forced out.

still don't think we should deal with RM if they are preparing to strengthen the scum from down the road

LOL - I'm not even going to entertain the thought of Ozil here but it does beg the question, WTF is going on a Real?!

Maybe Bale LWF & C. Ronaldo CF? Or visa versa? Perez trying to keep them both happy & shoehorn them both into a side.

A season long loan of Ozil as part of the Bale deal might be feasible - with an option to buy if we can meet his ambition.

It's madness. I only wish we had a snowball's chance in hell of signing him. Fuck Willian etc.

I expect him to still show up at someone like yanited if he leaves RM.

If he doesn't go to Utd I won't be surprised if he ends up in Arsenal. Just not sure if they want to double/triple their transfer record for one player.

Perez doesn't care as long as they're there to be exploited for their commercial revenue-creating potential.
