Just heard that Mido has joined the claret and blue mob. Am I imagining it or did they chant "shoe bomber" at him one time?

Got to kind of laugh that they go from RVN and Eidur to Benni McCarthy and Mido. What a gulf in talent.

Kind of hope Mido does well though. Was a fun time at Spurs when he was here and wish him all the best.

Mido and McCarthy 2 good signings for the spam i reckon, lots of premiership experience both have lots to prove and play for in the second half of the season, should see them safe at the least

Did he play in the Africa cup of nations?

I saw Ghaly in the final, getting booked.

Playing, by all accounts, on a contract that pays him a grand a week - Div One money - as he says he has a point to prove about playing in the Premiership.

Good to see him back but seriously, the guy has to settle down somewhere. He's on course to take the record for clubs played for off Micky Quinn.

He wasn't picked in their squad. I don't think Zaki was either.

Was talking to my housemate a few days ago and we were remeniscning about the fateful ACN four years ago when Mido was averaging a 6 pound weight increase every game he played in the tournament-its funny when you look back on it now, but for the first half of that season he was absolutely immense for us-its just a shame to see a footballer crumble to cravings as soon as he was away from being strictly watched.

I always liked him in a loveable nutter sort of way.
He'll have to resist the many Kebab shops that surround Upton Park however.

Yeah we did. It was right after Richard Reid tried to blow that plane up, and Mido at the time was the spit of him.

Of course he in turn labelled us racists, when at worst we were just a bit un-PC.

Still, alls fair in love and war as they say, and football certainly contains a fair bit of both. Rumours are he looks 'trim' which I'll have to see to believe, but he's a good player with a point to prove, and if he can steer clear of Deano's Pizza Parlour for the next 4 months he could prove to be a tidy bit of business.

The big question really is will KUMB forums get invaded by the same Egypt fans we had arrive?

I like Mido and if he is playing then surely he will keep his weight down and people will see him return to form.

He had good patches at 'boro. Nothing particularly to write home about, though.

I loved the crazy guy. He used to drive beat up old Jaguars around London like he was Pete Doherty or something. He'll do well for them before the injuries and inevitable weight gain.
