He’s a solid defender, just worried about his pace being exposed In the Premier League.

I don't think we should overreact with this apparent lack of pace that's being branded about on here recently. Alderweireld and Vertonghen were both fantastic CB's for us and they're certainly not renowned for having pace.

Wonder what has happened, this transfer window has been the complete opposite of what we were told it would be and I love every minute of it

Something must have changed behind the scenes, unless we are planning on selling a prized asset.

Just doesn’t make sense that all of a sudden we’re spend happy in a period of unprecedented economic uncertainty for self sustaining clubs like ours.

I’m loving it though.

GET. IT. DONE. Bring in Skriniar or Dias and we have one of the best XI's, if not the best, in the league and will make us serious contenders in the league.

Also, Inter clearly do not want Skriniar. So i'd think €50m would be enough.

Its unusually quiet in here considering what looks to be unravelling....

It will probably take some time to sort out those 10m that are the difference, various bonuses etc. More than happy with him or Dias.

Very interesting.

Maybe this kinda stuff happens all the time and we just aren't privvy to it (apparently every player under the sun has visited our stadium and training ground) but you have to assume that for Hitchen to actually fly out there has to be interest on both sides and talks are quite advanced.

Reminds me a bit of when Baldini was photographed in Valencia having talks over Soldado and SC lost its collective shit.

I was under the impression Hitchen was more on the scouting side, ratter then negotiating deals?

Bring in both lol

Seriously though, this transfer window is slowly becoming the best in my lifetime

Would definitely indicate we'll be keeping the four at the back instead of going with the 3-4-3.

Only worry with Skriniar is that he would get exposed in a high line so if Jose doesn't work out and we're hire a progressive manager he might be an expensive liability.

For the moment though he's pretty much the perfect CB for Mourinho's system.

That’s ok, we’d just sell him to the next team who are happy not to play a high line. Just because he isn’t suited to a particular style doesn’t mean he becomes a bad player and loses value

Hmm surely Hitchen doesn't fly out to Italy in the middle of a pandemic unless we are serious about doing a deal?
Flying to Italy isn't much of a problem at the moment - infections are really low and everyone is taking things seriously over there unlike in the UK - been there twice to see family recently and my missus is there at the moment

I honestly don't know how good Skriniar or Dias are, to be honest - haven't seen enough of either.

But we must be pretty confident of a drastic improvement in our defence to be spending that sort of money on one of them...

If Levy and Hitchen somehow bring in Milik and Skriniar then this transfer window will never be topped IMO. Absolute madness.

Hitchen pictured in Milan - can't get any more proof than that:

I woild really hope if he joins he replaces Dier at the back as he still doesn’t convince me as a top 4 CB (was done for Ings goal with a ball over the top - the latest lapse) but seems Jose has the horn for Dier due to his attitude so probably Toby has to reluctantly make space :-(

Having Rose & Walker either side helped...

No idea about Reguilon but not sure Doherty has that electric “get you out of jail” recovery pace.
