If Spurs move to Milton Keynes to play their football for a season or two we should all boycott the club completely. This is another piece of evidence of Spurs trying to do things on the cheap. The fact Levy has failed to back another new manager is beyond a joke now they are considering moving 50 miles out of London.

There's not a single bit of this post that i don't dislike intensely.

I don't support that we are not backing the manager - there simply isnt any evidence to say this is true.

I do however feel very uncomfortable with moving to MK for 2 seasons. I for one wouldn't be able to afford the additional cost and time to get to games there which means for 2 seasons i wouldn't be able to support my club. Also as i am on the season ticket waiting list i will have to continue membership if i am hoping to get a seat in the new stadium without using it. Additionally for those that cannot make it regularly to MK what happens to the loyalty points? Having switched to a system where they are no longer banked for more than 3 years i would see my high tally almost wiped clean with a 2 year absence.

You are making massive assumptions that 1) The club is moving to Milton Keynes for 2 seasons, 2) that you will have to continue to pay for your membership, 3) that you will lose any loyalty points

You could assume that the club will allow you to freeze your membership and that your loyalty points will be pro rata'd so that you gain the same amount that you would had we been playing at WHL

Wembley Stadium 90,000
Possible we might do some time share with Wembley, but they have a lot of other games on and also might be seen as a bit off given that is the nation's 'independent' footballing stadium.

Twickenham Stadium 82,000
Can't play football there, so no point discussing.

London Olympic Stadium 80,000
Umm, this is now being rebuilt for West Ham

Emirates Stadium 60,338
Stamford Bridge 41,841
Boleyn Ground 35,647
Not sure we need to discuss the reasons why we won't be sharing any of these.

The Valley 27,111
Actually seems like a better possible alternative to me, although i don't think the Charlton fans will be too impressed.

Selhurst Park 26,309
Which is basically in Croydon, i don't think you get could any further away from WHL and our fan base and still call it 'London'.

Craven Cottage 25,700
Not a terrible option, but no especially convenient for any supporters travelling from north of London.

This kind of thread really irritates me.... Lots of outrageous statements with zero consideration or forethought into the issues at hand. I don't normall give out neg reps

I don't normally like to give out neg reps but this got a big fat dislike from me.

My understanding of using Wembley is that the top tier would be closed for any game we have there but the issue is that it will be very expensive for the club to essentially rent it for that period of time.

Personally think The Valley is looking like a smart move. Unfortunately I couldn't help but worry about how it might affect our form during the 1 or 2 seasons that we were using someone else's stadium. Sadly it's unavoidable.

As some have already though, no point getting all up on your high horse about it, lets see what happens.

What also needs to be considered is that any stadium we'd want to share also has to agree with the local authority to have that extra increase in matches played. It may be that no stadium in London actually has the extra capacity over a year to offer another 30-ish slots for football matches to take place, whereas Milton Keynes does.

I know we have a largely Essex fanbase, but Milton Keynes is just too far away. The ground is one hell of a hike from the station as well, with it costing about £25 for a return from Kings Cross. By car the midday Saturday traffic on the M25 and that stretch of the M1 is a nightmare.

Logistically I think this is a terrible idea. The club would have to drastically drop the ticket prices to get most fans on board imo.

Yes i was making some assumptions as there are no facts to speak of as yet, i was simply expressing potential issues with a move from the stadium that may affect a great number of people.

While I do agree that I would rather Tottenham stayed closer to North London while the stadium is being developed, Stadium MK is 25 mins away from where I live. Those of you season ticket holders that are enraged enough to boycott for those 2 years can feel free in lending me your ticket for the duration!

Our number of season ticket holders makes it almost impossible to move to a smaller ground for a period of time. We have ~23500 season ticket holders and when you add an allocation of ~2500-3000 away tickets then a capacity of anything around 26000 (see The Valley, Selhurst Park, Craven Cottage) would leave no tickets for sale to our vast membership base. The club is going to want to retain and build on this membership base (especially Bronze members) before moving into the new stadium. Even StadiumMK would only leave 3000 tickets for members, which is unlikely to promote a growth in membership sales although interestingly moving out of London may result in a few more season ticket holders taking a sabbatical and therefore making the proportion of the ground sold as season tickets more 'normal'. In this respect, StadiumMK is at least a viable option unlike the smaller London grounds (although where the rumours of these have come from I don't know).

Two years at MK will kill the club IMHO... be better off staying at the lane as it is

I doubt that wery much, it might for the few who can not be bothered to get of their arses and travel a few extra miles to see the team they are supposed to support.
