I thought as he could debut tonight, we could keep tabs on how the lad gets on away from the nest.

Starts on the bench, but is already facing what is technically, as the record books will state, his first cup final and he'll be walking away with one of two medals. Madrid start the game, which is the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup, 3-2 down on Barca after a close first leg. Madrid have so far made their worst start to a season in 40 years, the 3-2 loss in the last leg was possibly their best result of their campaign so far, having lost all three opening fixtures. So, literally into the cauldron for Modric, could be make or break from the off.

Kick off in about 5 mins. Game on.

Very surprised Barca didn't try and sign Vertongen, obviously glad they didn't but he's just what they need at the back.

Nightmare start for Barcelona, Ronaldo makes it 2-0 on the night.

I think Modric's game is going to go up another level playing with this quality of players.

How many seasons will go by before Barca buy another centre back?

Poor defending from Barca but I gotta admit both shots for the Madrid goals were poor also even though they did end up in the back of the net.

Well, a typically batshit mental night in Spain begins all guns blazing once again.

That Ronaldo goal... he just took the piss out of Pique. Amazing.

Sometimes I wonder if Valdes is a midfielder in disguise

Barcelona getting absolutely schooled so far. Real should have been 4-0 up.

Maybe we should loan them Caulker! :D

Thats exactly what I said LOL, but i think Modric is going to be a success at madrid and play like the modric of 2 seasons ago and not the one from last season
