We don't need Schneiderlin. We have Sandro & Capoue. Sandro is one of the best defensive midfielders in the League. He loves Spurs & is a fan-favourite. Surely a left-sided attacker is a greater priority? Sandro represents character & capability. The Club should hang on to its best players.

If Levy needs to raise cash there are others that could be sold...

Schneiderlin isn't a DM per se. More a Carrick type player.

We played 1 pivot, we had 2 pivots and a younger player (Bentaleb). We will now play 2 pivots, so we need 3 or 4 in that position, and 1 less in the more forward/box to box roles.

Surely we have greater priorities up front? A player such as Bernard or Griezmann, for example.

I'm only hoping that Sandro stays.

Schneiderlin coming in would for me be just another Chadli-type player. He could do a job. And that's about it.

I would say a Left forward is 100% a priority, but I'm not one to be bothered about the order we sign our players, if we sign one on August 31st then what's the difference really? I definitely think we will get one in, I would rather we bought the best players available as they become available rather than follow a list.

Even with the recent links, I would be suprised if he lets Sandro go, unless he plans on bringing in Schneiderlin and another pivot, which would be very strange.

I think the space has been made for him by selling Siggy

IMO its shaping up for another year of using Eriksen on the left.

Schneiderlin was one of the top 2-3 midfielders in the league last season IMO.

Sandro and capoue can't pick passes and set the tempo though something schniederlin can. We have too many brute players in midfield we need more brains

I was actually wondering the same thing with Davies coming in at LB - better defensively, and less likely to get caught up field. I am looking forward to seeing where Eriksen lines up today. I imagine a lot has to do with how MP rates Holtby in the middle v. Townsend on the wing.

I wouldn't call Schniederlin a brain. Eriksen might be called that, Modric might be called that, even Huddlestone might be called that. But I wouldn't put Schniederlin in that boat.

We have spent something like £95m in recent Windows on attacking players (Eriksen, Lamela, Soldado, Ade, Paulinho) not to mention players like Townsend coming through so surely the priority is to build a team that allows them to do the job they were bought for?

Someone the other day posted a line up like this;

Ade

Eriksen Paulinho Lamela

Capoue Schneiderlin

IMO this is perfect for us.

No team with Paulinho as #10 is perfect for us.

Seriously, some of you need to watch more football.

Schniederlin is an excellent player.

To be fair most are not arguing that, but merely if we need him or if we need him as a priority over other needs.

Schneiderlin is a more experienced version of bentaleb IMO

A midfield 5 of Morgan, capoue eriksen lamela and either Townsend or chadli is pretty good and has a bit of everything to it

Assuming Sandro is sold, we have holtby dembele bentaleb Lennon and young tommy Carroll who I have a feeling will really impress poch during pre season all waiting in the wings

Decent all round midfield with hopfully Davies coming in, a central defender and goal scorer I would be happy with that come the start of the season

You are focusing too much on the positions. Southampton played this with Steven Davis as an 8 in that position with Lallana as a 10 even though he was on the wings.

It's fluid so the numbers become almost irrelevant.
