Southampton chairman on Radio 5 Live at 20:00 today. Expect him to say they won't sell Schneiderlin again...

Yep...would expect nothing less. That's just good business sense in their position though, so nobody should react negatively to it - as he will say it for sure.

Be interesting to see how he reacts to certain questions nevertheless.

Lol nah mate. I'd be truly gutted if I got banned from here. It's Vital Spurs, a site I've written articles on/for for years now. There's 1 poster on there who never says anything, he just appears on every article & pastes the same 'Anti Levy/ENIC' shit, over and over again. He hijacks threads & it has pissed me off for years. His ONLY issue is Levy/ENIC/Lewis, and he states it continually. So last night I decided to suggest it's really coincidental that he happens to live in Germany, and only ever complains about 3 people who just happen to be Jewish (that is exactly how I worded it). Tried to post on the site this morning after submitting another article, couldn't post & all my previous posts have been removed. Unbelievable

Was it IonX? Because 80 is from Canada. Or are you one of those front page "Mad Max" types?

It is....if this turns into another Moutinho fiasco it ain't going to be pretty.

Surely the opportunity cost, for want of a better phrase, is different for MS as for other transfers. Pochettino trusts him, was an integral component to their style of play, and the player himself has spoken in glowing terms regading Poch and his methods. They clearly have an excellent relationship.

Its a transfer that feels right on so many levels and if that means paying over the odds on his market value so be it. To us it should definitely be worth it.

I know we need to make room though, which is the tricky part. But I hope we do everything in our power to make this transfer happen.

The difference is, we're not trying to get a very complex deal done in four or five days. I suspect that Levy was forced to settle for rather less than he wanted for Modric because time was running out on Moutinho and we needed the money.

Yes, very true. We stand a better a chance of striking a deal eventually with them in that respect.

Was more alluding to the feeling of the disappointment of missing out.

I see no reason this deal won't eventually happen. It's true Saints don't particularly need the money, but it seems the ties are severed, damage done, and all that awaits is Levy to do his thing. I think at this point, Kreuger has shown his resolve, and I think as long as we don't pull both of them out then he can at least save face.

Schneiderlin has reacted publicly, it's well known he hasn't trained with their team in his continued fit, they've held on, and they'll probably still hold on to Rodriguez (at least for the time being). I think come the end, all parties involved will eventually end up at least content with the result.

The interview is aired at 8 but obviously isn't live...its already been done. Someone on Saints forum:

Heard them mention this on my way home from work. The guy talking about said it was a very interesting and "honest" interview and seemed to suggest there would be talk about if Morgan, J-Rod and Fonte would be leaving....

I hope the interview asks the right questions, like "you've just bought Taider and apparently after Fer, surely too many central midfielders now if you include Schneiderlin"

Man, if we weren't public enemy #1 for Southampton fans, we surely would be if that's how it all worked itself out.

I do love how the posters on here are quite happy at being the 'Real Madrid' in the deal.

Over the last few years the same people have been foaming when the Real unsettle and buy our players.

It's not really the same. Madrid control two of the biggest newspapers in Spain to try and unsettle players.

Sadly that's the way football works these days. Real do it to us. We do it to Southampton. They'll then do it to someone else.

Yeah, besides losing all the players that they already have, plus possibly losing Schneiderlin (fingers crossed!) they also have players like Fonte and Cork who are on the last years of their deals and probably won't renew.

Then you have Rodriguez who has 2 years left, but will probably leave even sooner.

The Southampton exodus hasn't come anywhere near an end.

The Fonte stuff was nonsense...how about this for a misunderstanding! :

'This has been misunderstood. They are talking about a player called Isco who is having a medical. He has then posted 2 pics - one is Fonte one is a baseball player called Segura. In Portuguese "Fonte Segura" means from a Safe (ie good) Source'

lol :)
