I don't think he is even worth £15 mill. I agreed with a poster last week that our bid was nearer £12 mill than £20 mill and today a paper has stated we only bid £10 mill. I don't believe further reports that that amount includes a player exchange.
I think Levy is keeping MoPo sweet with this attempted deal and that it is take it or leave it. Krueger (who does his business very politely) may have a Dimitar situation upcoming but he will not be getting a similar last day outcome.

Sounds a lot like the Moutinho deal.

I think the midfielders we have are more than capable of doing what MS is and more. Let Poch train them in what he wants and viola we save some money.

Before our interest was common knowledge I don't remember 1 poster wanting to bring this guy in. As the days have passed he's turned from a decent midfielder into fucking Platini/Hoddle/Keane.

Some of CM are just not suitable for Poch's system. Dembele will be shown up time and time again and is unlikely to reach Poch's fitness requirement, Sandro is a shadow of his former self, Bentaleb isn't anywhere near the level yet and Paulinho, well Paulinho needs a spectacular season.

Why do a botch job when we have a readymade player for the position who wants to come to Spurs?

The thing that's different with the MS and MM deals is that i'd like to think we've nearly got the deal over the line (in both cases) at the start of August, before things got set back for one reason or another.

Moutinho and others have all failed because it seems we only truly went for them with a couple of days of the window remaining. Levy has given himself the time with both these.

I think it's a depressingly cynical viewpoint but I occasionally find myself believing the conspiracy that Levy occasionally just creates the appearance of interest to please a manager. I don't know if that applies to this situation, however. I think if anything we're just far too late to the party.

I don't think their chairman can possibly save face from the most recent comments, so hopefully we'll come back in next year assuming he doesn't turn into Karl Henry or something.

It's a tough situation because no we won't be fucked without him, but anyone who has watched a lot of him knows what we would look like WITH him, and it's probably worth going big for.

This comment really could go in any of these player threads, but I genuinely think that the club knows it will need to be competitive when we move into our bright new shiny stadium. That won't happen overnight so I'm (maybe naively) prepared to believe at the moment that we are trying to progress all aspects of the club and especially our performances on the field in order that we are. There will be 60,000 plus seats after all.

We cannot afford to just stagnate, take the money and stay still - we have to get us into a position where we are challenging, even if only for just fourth. I fully expect us to properly buy some players and get rid of others.

This of course affects all aspects including new sponsors, naming rights etc.
