Modric went for £26 mil? Schniderlin for me is a £15 million player. Asking for mid twenties is taking the Micky. He wants to be off, bad. Guesse it's a game of who blinks first. They can't play him his head is a mess. He feels the club betrayed him.

It's just like the modric situation. I completely understood Modric wanting to leave as long as it wasnt to a direct rival. Because his head wasn't at the club so I think he left for 10 mil below his real value.

Is it just me or has the definition of suitcases changed?

No the ITK said they had their 'partners' with them also, so they are struggling along behind with 3 suitcases each!

Crystal Palace had a bid accepted for Jack Cork according to Daily Mail, losing another midfielder maybe they won't be selling Morgan Scheiderlin after all

I think we're going to have to sell them a midfielder, with Cork going now, to have any chance of getting MS.

I thought they weren't selling anybody else, this is going to make Morgan even more mad surely.

Modric went for £30M + add ons (like when Real M won the CL).

Maybe we could give them an extra £10m for Morgan when we win the CL? Hell, let's promise them £20m if it helps! ;) :)

Don't think they'd see that any time soon though!

With todays prices £15M for Morgan is a bargain, remember even Everton are buying players at £28M this window. Prices are shockingly high atm. There is a lot of money around with the TV money etc.

Agree.

I don't see him being part of the squad this weekend. If we can offload one player to them and its a reasonable all round package I think they'll deal in the end.

Strikers usually cost a lot more than central midfielders unless the CM in question is truly exceptional like Modric.

If Cork goes this cause a shot storm in the MS camp despite him only having a year remaining. They said there selling is done so if Cork goes they really haven't got a leg to stand on with MS. I can see this becoming an extremely bitter affair.

Modric went for £33m plus add-ons, but even so, the money in the Premier League in particular has changed drastically in the few years since he left that it doesn't make for a helpful comparison.

They can ask what they want tbh. Lallana went for £25m. Schneiderlin is younger and cleaned up in all the clubs player of the season of awards, so arguably they can demand at least the same as Lallana, if not more.

That's was not the point regarding Everton, they rarely spend and when they do it's normally closer to £8-12M than £30M. Prices are very high atm.

Is that Cork story confirmed? If that's true then it's going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back for Morgan.

If I were him I'd go absolutely ballistic at the prospect of another player being sold before him and in his position no less.

Morgan is fully within his rights to be livid about this and I hope he refuses to play and takes his fines. I would.

Would you? Really?

I couldn't see me doing the same. I've got direct debits all over the place, why don't I schedule them for the start or end of the month?

Fucking idiot.

Edit: Calling myself an idiot, not the bloke I quoted.

Valuations are not that simple, at all.

Depends on..

1. How important he is to the selling club
2. How important a player he will be to the buying club.

Schneiderlin is the only player they have left of real Value, so its natural they want lots for him. He was also more important to them last season than players like Lallana, and he went for £25 million.

Pochettino might see Morgan as THE most important signing of the window, for our Club, so I don't see an issue spending £25 million on him.
