It says he created more chances than any other right back apart from TAA, then says in the next paragraph that he isn't a right back but a wing back. This isn't a different interpretation of the role, it is a VERY different position. You wouldn't compare his stats to a right wing forward. I don't get why so many people do this

Good to hear because Jose tore him apart from the bench against Liverpool, time to kick on.

Almost sounds like a military technique where you're broken down and then built back up again.

That's what Jose does, breaks people down the the point where they get pissed off and take it personal against the manager, unfortunately these days I think there's a) more player power and b) more snowflakes so rather than reacting to the manager they go into their shell and 'down tools'

I think this method works on some players but they are few and far between these days.

You can blame it on snowflake culture but the art of good man-management is to know which players need the stick and which need the carrot, and that's always been the case. Fergie apparently never said anything to Cantona or Scholes. Jose seems a bit one-dimensional in that sense. Although with Alli I don't think either approach seem to work.

Another thing is Jose's reputation for not lasting more than a couple of years in a job anymore.
Players on contracts believe they can out last him.

Dele already had the arm around the shoulder from Poch and from Jose when he first came in and he's still reverted to being lazy and just content and not wanting to push on, if there's one player in the squad who needs tough love is definitely Dele.

Also good to see Tanguy NDombele flying under a new manager.
To be fair it’s hard to separate acclimatisation to a new country, language and culture as a human and a new league as a footballer from the effect of a new manager. This guy was bossing champions league games for Lyon so the first season was the anomaly. It would have been strange had he not rediscovered the same level of performance.

That’s not a criticism- I think Mourinho has added to Ndombeles game. I just don’t think it’s as obvious as the Shaw example.

Anyway glad to see Luke Shaw is flying now under a new manager

Having Telles breathing down his neck might have added a spring to his step too.....

And whilst he's improved, I wouldn't say he's flying. I still don't think he's that great but it's all about opinion I guess.

I don't really care who has had the best turn around of the two. It was just a post in response to yet another unnecessary backhanded dig at Jose. It really is getting tiresome.

And it's like people are forgetting just how overweight he looked at the time considering he is supposed to be an elite athlete.

Who? NDombele?
Both mate that's why I used him as the example. Shaw looked worse as far as how much extra weight he was carrying. Jose was right to drop and criticise both imo. Not that he ever said it was a weight issue.

Almost as tiresome as watching his teams play
