There hasn’t been a lot of speculation about Tanguy Ndombele leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer. According to a journalist from Italian outlet Radio Radio, former Spurs manager Jose Mourinho is interested in bringing the player to Roma during the transfer window.

For a short time, it appeared that Mourinho could motivate him to perform to his ability. Sounds as if Jose thinks it’s worth another try.

Can’t see this being true at all. Would be marvellous if it is though but I can’t see it.

Might not be as far-fetched as it seems. The pace of the Italian league would suit him a lot more than the Premier League.

The biggest issue we have imo is his wages. If Roma offer him, say £100k pw less than his current deal (albeit different tax etc etc) we'll need to pay him circa £10m to make up the difference. We can only hope that he is desperate to move and accepts a lower amount but if he's stubborn, we'll be writing a chunky cheque to get rid.

Can I volunteer to drive him to Rome? It’s only a short round trip from Dortmund, to London and then south to Italy. By god it will be worth it though. Ndumbassbele was the biggest disappointment since Paulo Tramezzani, but he cost about 10x as much!

It’s the physicality and pace of the premiership that he can’t cope with, he could do well in a different league, let’s hope another club wants him.

Bear in mind they can pay him significantly less in Italy in gross terms, as there are tax breaks in place to attract footballers from abroad.
