The second yellow was fair enough. It was a dangerous jump into Verts, and yet another foul by Torres. Jan wasn't faking the head injury either as the ball caught him in the eye after he was hit by Torres.
I'm not sure about the first yellow though. Was there a trip? And did Jan need to go down?
To be fair it's all irrelevant as Torres should have been off for the scratch. He looks like a real mean player now. I guess that happens when you play for them. Hopefully the FA will charge him for the scratch as well. It doesn't even matter if the ref saw it as they changed that rule this season.
Jose was just talking shit as usual trying to deflect attention from his players as usual. Its just the same old hypocritical bs from him.

The good news is that tonight's / tomorrow's headlines - at least those relating to Spurs v Chelsea - are all about Torres likely facing a three or even four match ban for the face scratch.

So Mourinho's diversionary tactics failed. Good.

So obvious and feeble,.... The Happy One seems well out of practice and relatively pathetic on this one,... 1 game suspension for the red and another 3 for the cowardly face gouge. Simple as :pompous:

Jose is ALWAYS a poor loser and just has to vent. If he wants Jan banned then Torres needs to be as well for violent conduct.

PS : I hate David Luis , epitomises everything wrong with football.

Verts has had some stick for holding his head after the incident which does look strange as there was no direct contact. However both players landed hard and it is possible that Verts knocked the back of his head hard on the ground so holding your head after that is not at all surprising

BBC washing over this today by instead having a Twitter debate with a bunch of Liverpool fans about whether Liverpool can win the league because they beat the worst team in the league with help from the ref.

Why are people saying Vert dived in the first incident leading up to the Scratch?

The ball is running out of play. Vert has no reason to dive. His reaction when he gets up isn't a reaction of someone who has dived. He looks pissed and annoyed.

Was it a yellow? If i'm being kind it looks like Torres accidentally clipped him. So probably not.

There was no contact with Torres, but watch it again and you'll see the ball strikes him in the eye which was why he was holding his hand there.

Is that when Torres clipped him from behind? It did look like there was minimal contact. I'd need to watch it again to see if he could have stayed on his feet. I've never seen Jan as a diver though so it would be strange for him to start now.

Yeah that one. The ball was running out of play. Vert wouldn't have needed to take a tumble.

The real problem here is the media feeling to hold Mourinho to account properly. Someone on here who had a journo context said that they all love him. I don't evict them to act like they are on Newsnight but likewise they sound act like doe-eyed fans either

And what happened when he told his players to get booked for time wasting sui they would be available for the final? Probably nothing?

I hope Torres gets an additional three, he deserves it.
Jose needs a ban as well....along with the ref who I thought gave us naff all until he "wrongly" sent Torres off.....seeing as they contributed to me getting a ban from this site on Saturday!!

The Portuguese prick and Chavski are absolutely made for each other. Most appropriate club in the EPL for him. No surprise Fergie didn't recommend him for the Man U job. Wouldn't want a classless prick in charge of "his" beloved club.
