Joe Rodon has explained why Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho's various rants are supposed to benefit the Spurs players rather than hurt them as they chase Champions League qualification.

Constructive criticism is fine. But all concerned need to accept their failings.

Do it in house not in public. We fans can tell who's good and who's shit we don't need the manager to tell us. It's his job to sort it out in training not in an interview.

That approach doesn’t work on the weak or inherited squads imo

Who’s our next manager?

Same players, different manager.......
Jose should leave straight away and Ryan Mason become temporary manager. Sam Allardyce should be appoin5ed as manager just before the Carabao final simply because every team Sam has managed for just one game, the team has won. 100% win. Common sense

The former Swansea centre-half, who cost £18million last summer, said: “I don’t look too much into it.

“It’s important we know when we’ve made mistakes and haven’t done the job. It’s only for us. It’s in our hands to put that right. It's a professional relationship, with everyone.

“I guess that is what the gaffer is trying to improve us at and put into us mentally - to be relentless and be winners in the mind.

How often does putting someone down to improve them work?

Jose really comes across as outdated, I would say what happens when players don't take to kindly to this way of motivation but it looks like they just don't get game time.

Just because players are on high contracts it's still a job, I'm not quite sure how professional this way of working is.

at least someone in the club is on the attack, only wish it was the players.

Rodon is the sort of player who would thrive under Jose, he seems to have some balls about him.

Players now are molly-coddled and get everything on a plate. Like spoiled children, they fall apart at the slightest thing. Some (a few), can take it but it seems ours can't. Times change, Mourinho hasn't.
