My love/hate relationship with ITKs

Peanut, Archie and sometimes BEN are worth listening to.
This is not a thread against ITKs - I love you guys and the vital, if not always accurate, information you deliver to us. I love your 'don't shoot the messenger' attitude and the way you take time out from your busy day for the greater good of the Tottenham faithful.
But what I hate is the fact that you suck me in, every time. Over the last three months I have, quite simply, become addicted to Spurs Community ITK. Every day, three times a day (at least) I'm logging on for the latest updates. Trying to filter through the ITKs who get the real deal info and those who simply eavesdrop in important places.
Some of you guys have the life of it. Eating in the best restaurants to get the latest gossip or hitting the fairways to get the inside track.
But, one and all, I sincerely salute you! I'm off to Betty Ford clinic to see if they can help me with my unusual condition!!

Same i know some of you are genuine itk's and that you cant help the fact that the people who run spurs send out false info/are fucking incompetent but ahhh!!!! if we could sign half the players i was suckered into believing ild be happy. rossi and diarra to name two players who itks guaranteed were signed.

Personally I maintain anyone with any real (direct) link to the club would not be posting on websites for the world to read.
At best there are people who know someone who know someone who hears something which may or may not be true and there is a chinese whisper effect.
I am sure many, probably most pass on their information in good faith and only a few are wums but I still strongly maintain that none of the ITK's are actually that in the know, they just hear whispers of information from time to time and some like to present themselves as having direct links to the clubs information system.
It is what it is though, entertaining for us the reader, it makes us feel like we are slightly ahead of the information curb from time to time and it is no worse than reading the papers or watching SSN for a little bit of speculative gossip. More fool the person who takes ITK too seriously and lets it effect their mood either way. Just enjoy it for what it is and as always take plenty of sale i.e. don't actually believe any of it until you see something official.

The easiest way to sort out the ITK system is if members were able to give a feedback rating to each ITK. I would suggest the top ITK's having a maximum of 5 stars with the newer, less trusted ITK's getting 1 star.
e.g.
Dragon 1 *****
Jasper *
That way we have a guide as to how reliable the information they provide is. Star ratings should always be fluent so that we can regrade ITK's from window to window.
Any ITK consistently getting low grades can then be looked at by the admins to determine whether they want to continue to post their information on the ITK page.

and how you you know how reliable each bit of information is? You dont, so a rating system just wouldn't work

The best thing for the ITK system would be for it all to be published anonymously, under the guise of The Goat for example.
Then users wouldn't know who was writing each piece and it would all have to be treated with equal amounts of credibility and salt.
If an ITK has a very specific and obvious writing style (i.e. BEN, WPD etc.), then the mods could re-write the information to be less obvious.
This way there can be no ITK bashing as well, as users wont know who has written each piece of ITK .
If specific ITK don't like their posts being used anonymously then they clearly aren't doing it just to get the information out and it is more about their ego trip.

It would be great to have some type of ITK league table or ranking system, the reality of it is this is impossible though because how can you ever qualify when an ITK got something right or wrong?

Again, nice idea but about as plausible as creating a ranking system for religions and religious figures, as just like ITK we have no real way of testing their information to find out if what they say was ever true at any one time.

It's the reliability of the ITK member rather than the information which is graded. Some of our ITK have been reliably posting for years, like Dragon 1. He should have a high rating because a lot of his info has proved true. If he started posting wrong info them his rating would slowly drop.
This is an excellent incentive for ITK to make sure their info is reliable. There is a minority of ITK which has been totally false and the rating guide would be a sign to members of how reliable the ITK's history is.
In short, ITK become more accountable for what they post, members have a guide as to the long term accuracy of the ITK.
