Can someone explain this chant to me? Not only does "Luka Modric" not rhyme with "goodbye", it also has twice as many syllables, so it doesn't fit at all, nor does Luka Modric have anything to do with saying goodbye.

I just don't get this chant at all. Is it really just as shit and cringe-worthy as I think it is, or is there any more to it that I'm missing?

It's a derivation of the old Shaka Hislop chant, which was to the same tune despite not rhyming or having the right number of syllabubs.

Likewise Rafa's chant is a derivation of Samir Nasri's.

We are pretty unoriginal when it comes to chants.

"Samir Nasri" doesn't have the right number of syllables for the Give It Up song, therefore they deserved to have it stolen and given to Rafa. Plus, wasn't it originally a Nicky Butt song? Well he's shit, so he didn't deserve it either!

I agree about the recycled chants though. It's lame.

I really hope that one fades away, might have something to do with sitting in my seat till the bitter end of the CC defeat to Arsenal with the Goons singing the Nasri version over and over and over again. I really don't want to have to hear it at every home game.

The only song I can think of at the moment that you could fit Luka Modric into is Smack My Bitch Up by the Prodigy. Hmmm

I'm glad it's not just me that can't stand that crappy chant. Such an embarrassing song for one of our best players.

I noticed at Stoke after Modric scored and most Spurs fans were singing it, then when Stoke subbed Tuncay on, the Stoke fans sang the same song to him. I can't have been the only person to have noticed how much better it sounded with Tuncay's name.

The first time I heard it away to Fulham last season I nearly vomited. It's horrendous.

There's another club that sang it at the weekend. It was awful.

Fulham used to sing it about Andy Johnson too.

I think chanting generally has gone down hill. :-(

Man City sang it for Tevez against Blackpool.
