I want to discuss this man after recent days.
Tbh Im fucking livid with him.
He has been fairly poor since he arrived. Im not too concerned about that, he needs time to settle in like all players.
However when he/his agent starts mouthing off to the press about a lack of game time and wanting to possibly leave I get slightly irked. Particularly as the reasons given are selfish WC based ones. (We pay your wages you cad, you worry about playing for us first and foremost!!) He seems to think we should pick him to further his career - wtf?!
This is compounded when he is then given a start and is utterly passive at best and just shit at worst. So he talks his way into a start and then fails to take the game by the scruff of the neck and show anyone why he should be starting for us, let alone be picked for his national team.
You'd have thought after his spouting off he'd be playing like a man possessed, ensuring he is undroppable so he can showcase his talent to feature for his national side at the WC. His performance today was not even close to that, like not even really trying particularly hard, let alone having the talent to do so.
Man has got a fucking nerve if you ask me. Fucking whinging but doing nothing to better the situation himself.

His best position is central, but so is half the first team squad. Lacks conviction. Nearly always runs towards the defender, stops then passes backwards. He has the ability to beat players but seems not to back himself.

Van Der Vaart came ready made. Those two are nearer the start than the end of their careers.
I like Chadli. Puts in a shift defensively, and helped Rose look decent today. Also did well to get into the box and support Ade when crosses came in.
Shoud have buried his chance in the first half though.
Also, he's always one of the guys that puts his arm around the youngsters when they're playing instead of going into a full Defoe-like rant when they miss a pass.

He's half decent cover for the flanks but I really wish we wouldn't buy attacking players who are so obviously limited technically.

Im inclined to agree but I would be willing to reserve judgement as he is new.
Unfortunately he has brought that judgement forward about 6 months with his camps mouthing off to the press.
If you want to talk publicly about how good you are and how you deserve a place then you better fucking show it when you are given the chance - he hasnt.
