From the little I've seen of him, he mostly plays as a rwb/ RM but can play CM. He's pretty quick, tenacious, and don't stop running. He's also strong in the tackle. Think he'd be a decent signing, especially as he can play in multiple positions.
I like the idea of the middle three being absolute engines, with a more attacking minded CM to complement the CDM/CDMS. But equally, comfortable on the ball and a bastard in the tackle

Seems a bit like that Torriera who Arsenal bought?

Better than him IMO.
Torriera moved out of Uruguay to Italy 16 or so. But Nandez has come through the tough Uruguay & Argentina league with Boca. Apart from them having similar physique and representing Uruguay, IMO, Nandez has little bit more quality on ball
Also, Nandez ceiling is still being tested, unlike Torriera who we can safely say a very limited player.

Not saying Nandez is going to walk into the XI - but for me, he can do a far better job than Winks or Sissoko and some more if he is part of a decent team. Bielsa & Leeds looking to get Nandez but their bid no where near Cagliari valuation. Atleast, you know, when Bielsa fancies him, he will do alright

If Bielsa wants him, he’s a machine that won’t stop running

Cheers for the summary. I enjoyed this bit the most!

He sounds semi-psychotic if he tackles with his head.

Let's go all out to get him!

His Boca clips show him playing more central and more of the tackling side of his game, put it this was he's not scared of a tackle

You need players like this, someone with quality who leaves it all on the pitch. I really think he'll inspire the rest of the team.
I mean I'd be embarrassed if I saw one of my teammates tackling with his head, and I wasn't even trying with my feet.

This is why this type of player in the system Nuno appears to implementing is probably way more effective than Ndombele

I dont understand where this average comparisons are coming from ?
He has the Boca heritage. He is 25 but has 40+ caps for Uruguay.
He does have quality on ball and has the tenacity thats suited to PL
Plays RWB or CM where required. He will be perfect for us in that, he can be very good replacement/upgrade on roles Lamela & Sissoko did for us- he does have higher ceiling.
"higher ceiling" hate that phrase at the best of times.

I remember watching the Boca documentary series on Netflix, where he seemed highly rated and like an interesting player.

Used him a lot on FM after that, where he would always turn out great.

He’d be a fan favorite for sure. Because his best qualities are his mental and physical ones. Desperate to get the ball, desperate to stop opponents, desperate to win. Endless running, strong sturdy base with his low center of gravity, athletic and pacy. Aggressive in winning the ball.

But that’s not to say his technical qualities aren’t good enough. His footwork is fantastic in tight spaces, he knows how to beat his man 1v1. He’s great at receiving the ball and shifting it quickly out of his feet under pressure. I also think from watching him, he has really impressive shooting technique and power from distance, despite the lack of goals. Tackling is a technical skill too, and he’s great at winning the ball. He won’t provide the best quality of passes in the build up or in the last action, even though I think his decision making is fine. But he’s a warrior who will make himself known in the game with his defending, physicality, aggression, and determination.

I’d say he reminds me of a more athletic Ander Herrera who is also more comfortable on the ball with his running and footwork.

I’m all for getting this type of player. Sounds like a work horse and is versatile.

That said I’ve been curious as to why our interest in Marcel Sabitzer seemingly dropped because to me he’s exactly as this guy sounds like except with a bit more proven quality. I’m not sure if it’s because Sabitzer is now rumoured to be going to Bayern so his head has been turned or if it’s because our interest seemingly dropped when Fabio and Nuno joined.

Either way I’m happy to see us after this type of player.
