Aaron Lennon's World Cup hopes took a further blow after he suffered a fresh injury setback in training.
The Tottenham winger has not played this year due to a groin strain and with England's initial World Cupparty due to be announced in just over a month, time appears to be running out for Lennon.
Fabio Capellohas always stressed that he will not take a player to South Africaunless he is fully fit.
Now Lennon looks to have a real battle on his hands to overcome his current problem and prove his fitness before the end of the season.
"He trained on Monday and had a bit of a setback again," confirmed Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.
"Hopefully he'll be fit for the World Cup - I hope he's fit to play for Tottenham first and foremost.
"He's sore again. He's come out in training and felt a bit sore after. So I don't know.
"We just have to keep our fingers crossed but it's been a long time."
