But you were initially talking about the area close to Tesco's, not Pickett's Lock (I assume that's the cinema complex you mean). That's a good two miles away. The idea of a ground there was kicked out of the window once the Commonwealth Games fell through.
Also, it would make no sense for the club to have bought up the land in Tottenham it has already if there were any real intention to move. I've no idea how far we've progressed with acquiring the industrial estate back of N17 Studios, but we've most certainly made enquiries of householders in Worcester Avenue. From what I understand (and this is from a local councillor of very long standing whose word I have no reason to doubt) Plan A is very much the same as Joe swiped from COYS: a 55,000-60,000 capacity stadium north of Paxton Road, with the existing Lane being developed for leisure, housing, shops and offices, all of which would provide a huge economic boost to the area.
The only fly in the ointment I can see is the uncertainty over the economy, but that will merely delay matters.
I've read a few figures being bounced around before with regards to how much an Victoria Line extension would cost (£40-£50million) are these figures correct or are they just ?
