I like how they've built in some disabled access for when Carroll gets his next injury. Or gets blind drunk again and has to be rolled out of there. Nice touch.

Cost of steel has skyrocketed recently post brexit but its still lower than when Arsenal made their stadium

Iirc the cost of steel went to an all time low pre brexit, it sky rocketed but still cheaper than it was in 2012

I'm possibly talking out of my hoop but IIRC there was talk that DL went shopping for steel when the recession hit ages back whilst we were still having issues with Archway & got a better deal because of the £ vs € at that time.

I suppose it's swings and roundabouts

To be fair it is an upgrade on their old training facility.

Went there a few years ago. My son's team won their league by a mile and were invited up to play one of the WH youth teams.
I can confirm that it was a shit hole.

Absolutely. Particularly as ST holders are being effectively forced to buy a ST at Wembley or be slung to the back of the queue when the new stadium opens. I am still clinging to the hope that they go back to their original promise of an amnesty for current ST holders for next season. Particularly if they open the upper tier and stick with Stubhub as there will be no option of selling tickets as very, very few games will sell out.

I think us season ticket holders are going to get well and truely fucked over in terms of pricing for Wembley. Don't ask me why I just think we are going to get shafted. If they continue with reduced priced games then they should cut everyone's season ticket prices in half. Then they should say to all supporters that for one season only you too can buy a season ticket for Wembley if you want. I think that would be fair.

I heard yesterday (massive disclaimer needed) that the club was considering 2 year ST's. Therefore they could guarantee the current holders and even those interested good prices at Wembley and seats in the new stadium. Possibly we won't even know the value of our Wembley tickets? There may be either good value or some major sneakiness going on.

I doubt it. They must be aware that fans are having to make inconvenient travel arrangements and set aside much longer periods so they can see matches. That would indicate that the club is going to have to make it more attractive to trek over to Wembley than it is to attend at WHL, especially if they are proposing to open the upper tier and pay for a capacity of 50k+.

In addition, the increased capacity next season is an opportunity for the club to get the extra 25k fans whom they want to attend every week at NWHL into the habit of going. As well as trying to maximise attendance at Wembley, they're trying to market season tickets for 2018/19 and beyond.

Overcharging for tickets next season would be suicidal. They'd just piss us off and put us off.

I'm intending to keep our STs next season, but I'm not sure I'll be using them so reliably. Getting to Wembley from here (N7) is not difficult, because of the express tube from Kings Cross via Baker St. It takes me 45-60 minutes to get to WHL and it takes me 60-75 minutes to get to Wembley.

But getting home has been a tedious and exhausting business, every time, because of the need to restrict and marshal access to Wembley Park tube station. It has taken a minimum of 90 minutes every time. For night matches, that gets me home at 11.30. If they want people like me to attend regularly, they have to make it attractive, which means no price increases.

Cheers for that. As at November last year my SPVRS tour guide told me that season ticket plans hadn't been sorted out at all for the new stadium. Mainly because they hadn't decided how they were going to let people pick where they could sit (or even if they'd be able to pick at all). I think I posted about it at the time.

My mind might be playing tricks on me but I think the guy said that we might know in March time at the earliest about season tickets in the new stadium. So your info could be right, why else would they need to tell us so soon unless it tied in with Wembley? Who knows.

Salt. I do have 2 ST's but was only half taking it in. We'll see.

But the problem for me personally ( and others I know) is that we neither want or are able to commit to a season at Wembley. So we face the prospect of paying out a large amount of money for something we won't use half the time.

If the club could go back to the system of refunding the face value of tickets if you can't attend it wouldn't be a problem, but that's not the case. With the potential for the whole of Wembley being opened up and StubHub only being available for sell out, it effectively means that ST holders who don't want or can't commit to Wembley are basically paying a retainer to keep their place on the list for the New Stadium.

And of course there is the situation already mentioned where a ST is sold for say £40 per game and then tickets are on sale to members or general sale for half the price. Not a fair way to do things.

I can understand the club not wanting to have a ST amnesty as they are probably worried that it would mean we see attendances fall and less guaranteed income, but Ioyalty goes both ways and I think ST holders who've put their hand in their pocket for years ( even when we were crap) should be cut some slack.

I understand your comments totally and agree. I did kind of intimate 'don't quote me'. I really don't know and think you're getting your 'feelings/thoughts' out there.

From my point of view I really hope the club go all Gent on us, although I don't reckon they will.

But in real terms I do think that the year should be seen as a break even or even loss as opposed to a money making exercise. Wouldn't that be a PR positive?

I suspect and hope actually that the club will do this. Fingers crossed!
