I genuinely cannot believe that people are being particular about the shape of a stadium that you will only get to see from a blimp or on a plane flying over London.

Would you rather the outside look like the colosseum but the inside be shit? It's a stadium, everything about its design from roof shape to stand steepness and materials used have been thoroughly researched in the best interest of spectacle, not because some stupid wank stain Arsenal fans or jealous Stratford Ironworks fans are unable to give a few online digs about how it looks if you've got a camcorder attached to a drone.

Stop picking holes in things there really are more things you should worry about in the World

I was hoping our stadium was going to be in the shape of a cockerel t-bagging a cannon

I think people are getting this way out of proportion. If the stadium isn't ready for the Liverpool game we play another game at Wembley. Or it's ready but not 100% fitted out. It's unfortunate but it's not some kind of humiliation for the club. I'm more worried about the impact of having to play six, possibly seven, games before we get to play there and where we'll be in the table when it's finally ready.

I agree, and I m sorry, but hosting our first game at the new stadium without the exterior completed would be an absolute joke. We need to start on a positive, confident note, not something half arsed.
It would be forgotten about, before the end of the month.
If the game were transferred to Wembley then we all guessed the project was a good few weeks behind when the roof did not go up as planned. It really isn't a big deal.

What would be a bit of a joke is if one the stands is not operational. They would have known about this for 6 months - they actively would have been prioritising resources to the other stands. Yet they sold tickets anyway.
That would not be a good start for the new ground, and this is the outcome I fear most when posters write that the ground will be ready, not finished, without really defining what ready means.

I don't think we would have confirmed those test events if the stadium was not going to be ready. For me that is evidence enough it will be.

They’re currently testing the LED signage panels between the 2nd and 3rd tiers in the East stand. Didn’t even realize there were LED signs there, and I presume they’ll have them in the West stands as well. Neat.

I'm so proud of this club in creating this new stadium. Every image of it I see makes me feel more privelaged to support this club.

It's just awe inspiring.

Truly inspirational

Having the longest bar and the biggest club shop in Europe makes me so proud

Trophies must surely follow because I’m sure we’ve build spectacular cabinets for them.

Although 1st game against a big club in Liverpool might make it more of an occasion. The thought of losing to them 1st game would be unbearable or Salah scoring the 1st goal ?. A bit of me wouldn’t mind it being Cardiff. 1. We got more chance of a win. 2. Means they don’t get to visit the stadium. 3. We smacked them at Wembley might be some scars.
But imagine beating a club like Liverpool in the first ever game. It's a lot more memorable than beating someone like Cardiff (no disrespect to them)

Odds on Kane will be the first Spurs player to score at the new ground following on from him being the last Spurs player to score at the old one!

Wasn’t Rooney the last player to score at the old ground?

Edit - sorry I saw you clarified this as Spurs player.

The downside is bigger than the upside playing Liverpool imo.
I dont see how it is. Losing to Liverpool is not exactly embarassing but beating them (again) at home would be great. The place is going to be absolutely rocking, the players will be well up for it, I'd fancy us to beat anyone. I'd rather beat one of the biggest clubs in England.
