Erm, obviously no?
Whilst its not a NFL stadium adapted football, its worth noting NFL stadiums are far superior to football stadium and hence why our stadium imo is as good as it is. In america they take hospitality to another level but the problem is, a stadium there lasts for 25 years before teams start sniffing for a new one

Though, i do believe have the retractable pitch has been unnecessary expense if Kahn buys wembley as the point of us being a NFL stadium would have been pointless for a few games a year.

With concerts etc wouldn't it still serve a purpose?

Wembley last night was a good eg after the boxing. Grass ruined at the centre. Wouldn't have been with a retractable pitch?

I thought NWHL was staying local but from the 'live stream' it appears to have moved at least 3 time zones...:nailbiting:

The stadium looks fantastic with the pitch installed and the floodlights on.

Concert's is a funny one. The acoustics for football stadiums dont suit concerts at all but big artists would look at NWHL as a venue. Boxing tends to be a one off with 2 or 3 max fights at a stadium a year

The problem with this and other activities, is that we would be competing with 4 or 5 stadiums in london for the chance. Now we may have the best stadium for the time being (until chelsea do something) but we are beaten by Wembley and Twickenham for the amount of seats/capacity, whilst West Ham's stadium is shit they have a lot of space so you can do shit like cricket, bigger stage productions and etc.

I personally think once this NFL deal finishes, we should build another few rows downs and lower the pitch for more capacity like Man City. The NFL are also expanding the amount of countries they are visiting with Mexico and they are looking at Germany, Scotland and Wales.

Even if we physically expanded the stadium we would be very unlikely to get planning permission to let any more people in until transport links are further improved. This isn't going to happen until either a) the long-suggested Victoria Line extension to Northumberland Park happens (not currently planned), or b) Crossrail 2, due to go to Tottenham Hale and Northumberland Park, is built (currently pencilled in for completion in 2033 or so assuming permission and funding is sorted). So realistically we're going to be stuck at the current 62k capacity for at least 15 yearsish.

Another problem is that we don't have a Tube station on our doorstep, but the Degenerates and Taxpayer Stadium do, not to mention the fact that they're more convenient for central London. Stratford also has good links to Essex and Kent for commuters travelling to/from events.

Northumberland Park is the Victoria Line depot, which could make the extension awkward.

Yep. Other reason is that right now the Victoria is very easy to operate because it has no branches and this would change that. I'd wager it'll likely happen only if/when we get driverless trains, but for that to happen there'll have to be a London Mayor (almost certainly a Tory which is unlikely any time soon in itself) ready to have the mother of all fights with the RMT and subject their voters to months of transport misery with constant strikes to try and stop it.

Ok so the grass is going in but WHEN are they going to bloody well paint the white lines?

when it's all complete and this thread is closed up you really will be lost won't you. you've got your grass, now you want it painted on, then it will be goalpost and nets. after that we will need is 62+k fans, a football, 2 managers and their coaches, 22 players a bench full of subs 4 horrible men dressed in black shorts and whatever colour tops.

I think last nights Wembley pitch showed why we will be the No 1 destination in London for non football events. Good luck to mr khan if he thinks he can stage all sorts at Wembley and still keep a football pitch in reasonable condition, it’s simply not possible. Is it really gonna be realistic to put a new pitch down 3 or 4 times a year pre England games and cup finals. I think not, it’s a poorly thought out plan by mr Khan.

Can I remind you there is an American football match going on at Wembley for 3 consecutive weekends, finishing with one on the 28th October. They certainly think they can get the pitch prepared in time for us to play City just 28 hours later.

I’m not talking about NFL. Although that’s not gonna do the pitch any favours especially if it rains. We all saw the state of the pitch which was from the AJ fight. I’d presume part of khan thinking would be to get as much use out the stadium as possible as in boxing concerts etc. I would think he will have a lot less regard for the state of the pitch than the FA do.
