Love me a bit of Converse All-Star footwear. Haven’t had a pair since my last ones (which lasted eight years) gave up the ghost around the end of 2017.
Yep. You can't beat a true design classic. Check out the outlet if you do head to Wembley, about !5% cheaper than online.

Excuse my ignorance but why are people angry about the money when they're getting refunds? I guess the short term out of pocket-ness? (I am one of those people)

Even then though, surely people who bought STs had budgeted for the fact that we were going to be in the new stadium and therefore weren't expecting to get any of the money back in the first place so why it's now an issue that they're getting refunds on a game-by-game basis I don't really know. You weren't supposed to be getting anything back at all.

I really feel for some of the local businesses in Tottenham. Some of the pubs and local food outlets really relied upon the match day trade. I believe the Bill Nicholson and the Pride of Tottenham have already closed down, and I'm sure some of the smaller chip shops / takeaways must have had to use all of their savings to keep trading for the year when we were away, the longer this goes on then the more likely they are to go under. I remember reading about a pub next to the old Boleyn Ground that apparently used to need bouncers outside on matchdays as they'd get 2,000 people in, now they're lucky if they get 30 - at least the savvier business owners in that part of town would have realised the club wasn't coming back and that it would have been a good time to sell the property for something else - those in Tottenham will have been encouraged to try and hold out as they would have thought it was only temporary but there's still no light at the end of the tunnel. Who knows what the High Street is going to look like when we finally move in.

They're not a small local business and they are sponsoring other things with us, but eToro took out a sponsorship of the turnstiles at Seven Sisters station as they assumed it would be packed full of travelling fans every week - they must be furious that it's only local commuters seeing it as I bet that wasn't cheap.

They've never had it so good. 4000 pissed Albanian chicken fiends working all week has seen trade boom. As for the delightfully ironically named 'Pride of Tottenham', that's thankfully been taken over by some Dalston hipsters and is now frequented by the yummy mummies who have descended upon the Tottenham Hale flats.

UEFA statement: "UEFA will remain in close contact with Tottenham Hotspur to assess the possibility of the club hosting UEFA competition matches in their new stadium this season, if the club qualifies for the next round of the UEFA Champions League."

Imagine getting through and UEFA turning round and saying "sorry you just missed the boat"

The thing is there can be a great atmosphere there. The atmosphere against Barcelona was fantastic. Its a two way thing I know but I do feel some fans have just accepted defeat.

Sunderland had more fans at a league one game a week or so back than we did for a match ( against wolves I think). Its a little embarrassing. I know Wembley ain't great but in the grand scheme of things its a minor inconvenience. I would still expect fans to turn up and fill the stadium let alone being vocal. I can only make a couple of games a season living in Cornwall but I still enjoy every minute of it despite it being at Wembley.

Personally I just find the moaning a little odd. Wish I lived in or around London to see more games
I was at Barca too, and I wouldn't say the atmos was fantastic. There was a brief moment where it was rocking after Lamela's goal, but then we conceded almost straight after! Lol.

I've tried to get into it there, I really have, but the songs almost die out instantly, and it's just not the same. It's been miserable this season, even as the team have stoically marched on.

So in April Wembley has 2 FA Cup Semi Finals on the weekend of the 6th when we play Brighton at home. Then there's the Anthony Joshua fight the week after when we're home to Huddersfield.

We can't use a 3rd venue so if we're not in by then there's a good chance we won't be able to fulfill our fixtures...

So don't think we can wait until next season even if we wanted to, otherwise we may be forfeiting games.

Nice. It’s only a 20-25 minute drive for me, so quite easy.

When I actually get my car back, but that’s a whole other thing...

That's a very simplistic way of looking at it. What if people did it via finance methods and are paying say 20%? In what business can you take someones money for something in May and drip feed it back 7/8 months later at the same rate?

The club have taken a £40m interest free loan from the fans and nobody seems to acknowledge that. You can't be so painfully ignorant to the fact that it wasn't going to be ready and just shrug your shoulders like the statements come across as. In October they could've held their hands up and said ok it's going to be Feb/March, here is your money back and as a gesture of goodwill we will give you the first Fa Cup or Carabao Cup home game free of charge or as a credit on the account next season if it does not occur. Instead it's the same mundane statement every month with information as clear as mud and none of us are any the wiser.

Write it off to next season. Then we have a definite date to get excited about and it can be as shiny and complete as possible.

Also a hook for keeping our best players over the summer. They'll be keen to play there for sure.

FFS, just fucking open it for the start of next season.

If you had been to the games at Wembley all season you would see the piss poor atmosphere and how awful a national stadium we have. The area of the crowd for Spurs supporters are full of tourists, away supporters, empty seats late arrivals, disjointed singing. I could go on. On top of that this dump of a stadium (Wembley) is costing Spurs a fortune. It is an awful experience from journeys start to the time I get home. The food, drinks, security, stewarding, etc is substandard. It is a credit to our players on their performances. It must be so difficult to play in that atmosphere. The players have been highly vocal in their desire to move as soon as possible and they to me are the most important.

I do not believe that any loyal supporter who has witnessed the matches this year would want anything different than the players.

We could debate at length the merits of trying to deliver our magnificent stadium in a year. To do it in two (or less) would be a fantastic achievement on its own.

Lets give our club (and Danny) the full support they deserve and move as soon as we can. COYS

Well I guess that depends whether you believe the club didn't know it wouldnt be ready until March, or if you think it's just been one big lie

Youre right and thats why I said I dont need the money because a) i budgeted for it anyways and b) im super super rich

BUT

I think its more to do with if i dont get what I paid for surely I should get a refund, its like anything... you expect to get what you paid for. I am taking exception to the fact that this should have been a refund for the whole amount then let people buy as and when. Its a slightly pedantic point perhaps but circumstances for some people change also dont forget.

I personally don't feel you can sit there anymore and say that in August/September/October they thought it was a few weeks away. You can't be in this position and think that everything is done bar a couple of major issues that are holding everything up. The opaque nature of the statements just fuel that fire.

Wonder how many world class footballers we could've bought with the money these delays have cost.

I also wonder just how much our over ambitious timeframe has indirectly contributed to the delays?

We have heard that Mace were the only contractors willing to work to our timeline ( where others said it wasn’t feasible) and clearly we were trying to rush it through. The virtual 24hr working and thousands of workers on site at a time are testament to that. Added to that, plenty of anecdotal evidence of there being so many workers at one point that trades were getting in each other way etc.

I’m not an expect on construction and I’m sure someone will be along in a minute to tell me to keep my layman’s opinion to myself.

However, I don’t think it requires too much of a leap to suggest that a more realistic time frame and taking our time to get it right would have given us a far greater chance of avoiding the problems and the extent of the delays we have/are facing.

If safety systems are taking 6 months to fix, then in my view, the club will be shitting themselves re next season.

I think it’s because we are paying more for the same seat at Wembley than we were last season.

The timeline was always ambitious to say the least but as fans of course when we were sold the product we had all been waiting for we would do anything possible to be a part of it. I took out finance on my Season Ticket for the first time in 15 years of having one, as financially I wasn't in a position to pay for it all in one sum as per usual.

So whilst the refunds coming back to me are terrific, I am still paying the interest on my monthly payments for the Season Ticket which leaves me out of pocket on a product that I am not using.

Yes, it's my choice to not go to Wembley. Living in Watford, it's so much closer too but I can't drive there like I would the Lane, which makes transport costs rocket and the overall experience is piss poor anyway.
