Animal, appreciate what you are saying and I do like the emphasis on the matchday experience and the closeness to the pitch.

I'm warming to it - I can only compare it (not that I've had any previous experience on this) to paying for your girl to get her tits enlarged. You look forward to seeing the results, but the first time you see it doesn't quite look as good as you dreamed it would, but then once things settle down you'll eventually be deliriously happy with it and all your mates will be jealous.

Thanks DC, repped back. All view points are valid though and good debate brings about good design so let it continue.

I'd love to get more involved in the new stadium. I wonder if KSS are hiring.....

Nice analogy! As I said the design will change, but even if it was to remain how it is in those images I think Spurs fans would still be damn proud to approach the stadium on match day. It's impossible to compare the feelings you get in real life to those you get from a computer generated image.

Guys i honesty think the pictures look terrific.

I am not bothered whether it is 55 or 60k it sounds a bit petty to be quibbling over that to be fair, prices will be adjusted accordingly depending on the capacity.

I think the idea of not having a bowl seems to be a non runner in this day and age. Provided we are close to the pitch and have the atmosphere reflected back in etc (all the things they are talking about) then i will be more than happy.

At the end of the day, in this current financial climate i take nothing for granted and am over the moon that we are still pushing ahead with this and the brakes havent come on. Look at the likes of Villa, Everton, Newcastle and even Liverpool - they would all struggle to build a stadium at the minute.

How anyone can have any complaint with this whole project is beyond me. With the academy now being one of the best in europe and the new training complex being built, good young players in the squad and cash in the bank things have never looked as good at tottenham.

Very happy especially with the emphasis on closeness to the pitch and atmosphere. 55, 58, 61000 I'm not that bothered really and although cockerels would be nice I won't lose any sleep over it.

The main things are to have a capacity that competes and to maintain the atmosphere of the current ground. I don't need a padded seat or loads of leg room but I do need a good atmosphere and a seat that makes me feel I'm part of the game. The trimmings are great but I don't give a fuck what it looks like from the outside, it's inside that counts. Oh and the price too, let's hope that doesn't rocket too much either.....

Some people seem to be responding to the designs quite negatively. What needs to be appreciated is that the design process can take many years and as these are the very first designs to enter the public realm you can expect them to change quite significantly. Whilst training to be an architect I have worked on a few large projects in the City and I can assure you that planning restrictions/ feedback, client consultation, changes in brief and financial issues mean that the initial designs will not be fully representative of the final ones.

The whole match day experience is important, but what's more important is the experience inside the stadium and Levy and the architects clearly recognise and are putting emphasis on that which is commendable and very encouraging. We won't end up with an Emirate's mkII because that lot never had any atmosphere to start with and they simply transferred that into a shiny new box.

I am also very encouraged by the whole design team involved in other areas. Make are a top firm of architects with a great design philosophy, producing top quality innovative and original designs and Martha Schwartz really are one of the top landscape design firms in the world.

Our new stadium is in really good hands people. Less negativity would be a good thing. Levy is doing a great job and people need to appreciate how much effort goes in to this kind of project.
Saw this thing on telly once where martha schwartz designed this public space for a village up north somewhere - was fucking terrible.

On a positive note I think the stadium could be alright. We really need to see interior pics before shooting it down - or bigging it up.

True, that was on the big town design thing up in Castleford and her design was a bit pointless but that's what happens when you have a client that really doesn't give a toss and would probably rather have a new branch of Netto and also no clear brief of what is required.

Fortunately we do give a toss and the brief is quite clear so we can expect something quality I'm sure.

I have always been sceptical about the need for a new stadium and still need to be convinced the idea of a new stadium, in any shape, is a worthwhile investment.

This does have a couple of similarities with our neighbours, the wavy roof line and the gap between the seating and the roof being the most obvious to me. Lower the roof to sit on the stands and contain the atmosphere and I would be a lot happier.

I love the contrast between the white rendered walls and the 3 blue lines that run around the stadium and the big arches over the four corner entrances create a suitably imposing impression. But where is the cockerel and ball? Whack that back on the East Stand and I could be persuaded.

I think the pictures are awesome but don't like the writing over the main entrance. Surely they could think of something more inspiring?

Something like the Estadio da luz on the inside would be good, tight to the pitch, but it's a bowl.

The only thing is, the tighter to the pitch you get with these new bowl designs the less steep the stands seem to be.

Well KSS designed that one, so I would imagine ther is a fair chance of some similarities...

The message is: Take the tube, train or bus. The point of the planning application is that they don't want people to drive to the stadium.

Love it.

Looks good, and I agree with most people on here. I dont see much point in being picky in havinga 59K capacity or 61K, at the end of the day the important thing is that we can go and watch a game of football in a newly developed and improved stadium, which is a step up on white hart lane. Go and support our team and be proud of the home in which we play in.

Capacity is not the only grounds by which teams compete with others, the fact we are building a new stadium shows in itself spurs wish to move forward as a club.

Best atmosphere in the premiership > Higher capacity then the gooners.
Most innovative and next generation stadium > Higher capacity then the gooners.
Closeness to the pitch > Higher capacity then the gooners.

Lets put things into perspective here, having a bigger capacity might make us feel better, but the truth is, we should be proud because we have a stadium that looks 20x nicer, creates 20x more atmosphere and will attract 20x more attention. Most of all, this atmosphere will just aid us in getting behind the players and focusing on results on the pitch.

Im happy.

I have a strong feeling the top tier shape near the roof is not shaped like a wave for style, but rather an acoustic solution or increased view for fans. Im not sure why, but the amount of stadiums with the same wave shape at the top sugests there is a firm reason for it. Same with the bowl shape. As the stated the bowl is the only option and wins hands down to your standard box shape. As long as it has corners on the inside and close to the pitch, it will be the same as the original white hart lane.

As for looking like the emirates, It has a similar shape to many stadium these days, What the images dont show is the detail the aluminium cladding will have. The texture and pattern formed from this cladding surely will make a world of difference and completely change the feeling of a second emirates stadium. I am suggesting the look of the actually stadium will look very different from the images provided, because the detailing isnt shown through the quality of the early images.

Im not sure how to put an image on here so I have just put a link to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

No idea if the finish will be similar to this but just to show the material used may make a big difference to the final appearance of our stadium
