January or February I was told at the first exhibition - no commitment for a specific date was given.

I suspect the "issue" of the listed buildings may have had a delay in releasing more information.

I understand it's just a part of buisness, but anyway chaging of the stadium's name will be very sad...

I expect it'll be a long term name agreement of something like 15 or 20 years. After the contract runs out it will revert to the official name of the stadium (whatever that might be). Like the BT Cellnet changed to the Riverside Stadium and the Emirates will be called Ashburton Grove when the naming rights deal expires.

At least that is my understanding.

Unless somebody else takes up the naming rights.

I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that Sainsbury's, despite being heavily involved with the redevelopment from what i last heard, won't be interested in naming rights - The Sainsbury's Arena doesn't ring the right note for me at all, and besides, considering how short some of our squad is, "Every little helps" would put more pressure on Modric, Lennon, Keane and Gio, leaving Dawson, Woodie, Hudd and Pav without the motivation they need.

Too long to wait ... And as well after the contract runs out someone else can allow as another one.

Ah, fair point - "Good food costs less" can't really be changed to "Good football costs less" as with Spurs it blatantly costs more, a lot more.

"Making Life Taste Better" was their old one, and i can't see how that would work either, unless they did some promo days - in place of Meet the Players we could have Lick the Players days, where housewives and sexed up girlie yids can go and run their tongue over pre-booked parts of our squad

maybe i'm onto something with that - dunno how many would want to lick Chimbo though if he turned up in the gammy shell suit he wore to get his tat's done

It will be very sad.

If the stadium project costs say £400m and we get say £100m for naming rights over a 20 year period, that's a quarter of the cost paid for already. In these difficult financial times that's understandable why it is going to be done, even if in an ideal world it wouldn't happen.

The alternative is in cost of tickets - if all 60,000 were sold as season tickets that is £83 per year over 20 years, just to re-coup the £100m lost by not selling the naming rights. It's not going to happen.

worry about naming rights (except re how much we can get) is such a low priority for me - in fact it barely registers on my worry scale

getting the thing built will be such enormous task - getting it up and running within ten years will be little short of miraculous

I don't think we'll do it.

it's gonna be very difficult that's for sure, naming rights is one of the least of our worries, ditto whether it's a copy of the emirates and many of the other worries people have expressed

just getting the thing up and running - even if it's a 55,000 Weetabix bowl will be a fantastic acheivement

There is a fundamental difference with our new stadium compared to emirates, pride park, riverside etc, and that is that it is in the same place.
The others couldn't still be refered to as highbury, baseball ground and roker park because they are at a completely different place we however will still be at White Hart Lane whatever the stadium name is.
Like the man says if someone wants to give us 25% of the build cost to have heir name stuck on the wall that'll do nicely thanks.

be honest though, the ground doesn't actually stand on White Hart Lane but the new one will be closer to it than it is now

But you are ignoring the income from corporate facilities, which will be what we'll be increasing earnings from the most. I don't know the exact figures for this, but I'm guessing it will exceed the income from sales of season tickets and tickets to members / the general public.

Warmington House?

historictottwarmington.jpg

It's a big square block of shite, a million identical units are scattered across London - how can that possibly be grade II listed? Can't find pics of Fletcher House, the other GII listed one they're moaning about, but i would imagine it's similar.

Interestingly weak argument the Jehovas' put forward for the proposed relocation we've offered them - not as easily accesible by public transport, tons of Poles from across London come to that hall, etc. The new site is right near Northumberland Park Stn apparently. So, what they're saying is, that their congregation of FAR fewer than attend home games at The Lane, would have trouble getting there because they'd have no more access than we currently have, i.e. one local national rail line and bus routes.

They need to snap out of it. If people want to go there to congregate then walking another 10 minutes up the road from where they are currently won't kill them.

Then again, we could just take a cue from Duke Nukem and "Let god sort it out..."
