But that's surely fair enough? Wouldn't that be in what Lammy says is in the area's interest, anyway?

It wouldn't bother me if the number of concerts was doubled, and as local support for the plan from both residents and businesses has been pretty overwhelming I doubt I'd be alone. Note that, despite a recommendation from Enfield Planning that the training ground get the go-ahead, it was initially turned down because of NIMBY opposition (although I also heard a rumour that Kemsley cocked up the application, which was part of the reason he got the bum's rush). We're not so fussy round here.

My sense is that AEG are only interested in us insofar as we win the Olympic Stadium. There's slim chance of their being much demand for rock concerts and the like in Tottenham. It's far too difficult to get to to make it an attractive proposition for promoters.

You're probably right. And so what's Plan B?

As I've said many times before, if there's an alternative site here in Tottenham I can't think of it, and I can't think of another anywhere else in Haringey off the top of my head.

It's crossed my mind that Levy may be pushing for an alteration to the planning permission for the New Lane that will enable AEG to stage more concerts and 'events', because it's pretty clear that's where their interest in going in with us lies.

I doubt AEG will be the least bit interested in staging events at White Hart Lane, we all know how to get there where to park what buses to get and which way to walk from the nearest tube stations and how far that walk is all of which is irrelevant to us because we'd climb mountains to see the Spurs play but in all honestly are people really going to want to walk from Seven Sisters or Wood Green all the way to the ground in the dark, short answer, no and they wouldn't bloody do it twice.

Sorry only just come on this thread today, tired and can't be arsed to go back pages upon pages so I'll just ask.

A meeting was planned today between We Are N17 and Levy, any news on what happened? If yet?

I think you'll find the Premier league gives that fuck, I think they'd be a little disturbed about an asian team playing in the English Premier League:)

I believe if we moved to the Olympic Park we would be no further east than any other club than we are now.

I'm guessing Crystal Palace and Millwall off the top of my head, but I stand to be corrected.

I would have thought that Newham would be secretly happy for us to win the bid. They would then have two football teams in the borough bringing in more jobs and income to the area plus additional revenue from rates etc. for themselves. Or am I wrong?

Surely they wouldn't have offered West Ham the loan if they wanted us there. Newham want the park to become a Royal Park anyway, due to the upkeep costs, therefore they wouldn't get an income from the tenants anyway.

Levy said he understood fans' concerns at the club uprooting for north London and moving to east London but insisted that was a step that had to be taken.

He said: "I understand that because I have been a Spurs fan all my life. But our fans travel on average 40 miles to each game from all around London and the south east.

I don't like him mentioning that nearly all the time. Is he just going to ignore the fans who travel less than 4-5 miles to WHL. Ignore the ones who sometimes on occasion walk to the ground.

Yeah of course. All fans want a new stadium, but it's a a question of location.

Just pointing out that...

FSF says 1 in 10 spurs supporters want the move to stratford.

...doesn't actually tell you what question was asked.
