Emailed Pickles, then went looking for the form you said I'd need to fill out for Cameron, ended up emailing him too, the same email as I sent to Pickles, whilst also making him (Cameron) aware that I also contacted Pickles.

Good lad I e-mailed them several weks ago and still awaiting a response, but the more pressure the better. Started to think that if we don't get a decision before the summer recess then we should start demonstrating in the Paxton Road before the Schalke and QPR games and invite the press.

a picket line would be a good idea, do Sky still hang around the Lane on transfer deadline day?

Tweeted Pickles too, just to tell him I look forward to a response to the email that tells him how Archway are being deliberately obstructive for all the wrong reasons.

We may not be many, we may hold no sway whatsoever, but one thing is for sure, we are speaking from the viewpoint of what is better for an entire area. That is most certainly not what Archway are doing.

Good work Coopsie.

'Increase in correspondence' FFS!

If they just dealt with the CPO, they wouldn't have so many angry spurs fans writing to them all the while.

How do such useless ****s get into positions of power? Its beggars belief...

The distasteful aspect of this is that the club had considered other geographical options for the new stadium, we didn't get the OS but even then there was no confirmation of us staying put, then along came the riots and the whole situation changed.
From that point on the mayor, the local council and the government all got involved whereupon promises and apeals were made, the community came together and the club commited to Tottenham, there was an awful lot of community spirit involved all around to ensure Tottenham got the regeneration it needed and deserved; it appears obvious to me that Archway never signed up to that community spirit and still display no sign that the community is of any relevance to them.
This is not about one big company forcing out another smaller local homespun huckleberry apple pie and motherhood romantic family company it is about a community trying to push forward a raising up of the area for the benefit of everyone there, which is why the council are the CPO applicants, and it is about one buiness doing everything it can to delay or prevent this improvement, what it's reasons are I'll leave to you to decide, I have my opinion.

If indeed Archway Steel are playing dirty and are holding the club to ransom. Why can't Levy & Co open a Sheet metal business (Tottenham Sheetmetal) next door to Archway? (they own the land anyway) Target Archways staff with improved wages or otherwise advertise for experienced staff. Target their customers and offer contracts at cost price for a set period, let's say for example two years. The competition would finish Archway in no time. Then relocate the business to where Archway was offered and sell it. Just a thought

sorry if posted..
nick365:What I have heard is there is a stand off between Levy and Pickles. Pickles wants the S106 monies and will not grant the CPO until he can agree the S106 with THFC.
edmonton:Almost. Pickles is adding lots of strings (particularly s106) which Levy doesn't like (but will accept) BUT this is not the unknown reason for the delay. The battle on the strings was before Christmas

i believe S106 relates to the amount of affordable housing that will be part of the re-development and where it is to be located.

I'm only assuming this is correct mind;

What is Section 106 (S106) money?
This is money that developers of larger sites pay to the council to reduce the impact of the development. Developers sign a S106 agreement as part of their planning permission. This is a legal document that specifies what the money is spent on and where. For example, S106 money is used to make improvements to highways, parks, public transport, schools.

The S106 was already agreed between Haringey and Spurs for the Stadium element of the NDP. Can the Secretary of State change the premise of that agreement?

IIRC the S106 monies were waived as part of the deal to keep THFC in Tottenham, when the council were flapping about us moving.

There is a government reshuffle expected before the summer recess. It is widely believed that Pickles will be removed from his present position. We can only hope the new Secretary of State will be less of a hinderance.

Just because the House will be in recess for 3 months, it does not mean normal day to day business will cease for the duration. Although if Grey Fox is on the ball with his info, we should have had a decision by then.

It seems we are already talking to his replacement :D

The Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) will, no doubt, be challenged in the High Court soon.

Archway won't back down... this is not the 1980s/90s when corporate organisations ran 'rough shod' over local businesses in the East End to get Canary Wharf etc and gave some regeneration into that area.

There are many hoops for Levy and Co to jump through.

I would not expect this saga to end quickly as Pickles is a man to support localism and support the smaller business trying to survive.

He does not and has never seen the bigger picture. Pickles fights ruthlessly for the minor; that is a separate debate.

As far as S106 goes, Sainsbury has been built and other regeneration has been agreed, yet Levy is probably holding the trump card on the travel aspect. Maybe, again the stalling point, which Pickles will no doubt get involved in.

Boris will string Pickles up by his balls if he personally hinders this in any way I would have thought. The only Tory more powerful than Boris is the PM so he is not a man to upset.

For a business like this being relocated somewhere reasonably local shouldn't be a huge deal. It's not like they depend on passing trade or location specific custom.

They of course deserve compensating for goodwill, their inconvenience and losses of relocation, but anything else is OTT. I accept they are trying to "maximise" this as many would but this should be a straightforward CPO really.

Has Archway ever publicly stated what their position/opposition is ? Are they saying we won't move at any price etc ?
