NFL could be 14 games if the team is successful. And no-one is suggesting Spurs play a capital 1 cup 3rd round tie versus Morecambe at Wembley. I`m sure alternative venues could be found for lesser games. At the end of the day, its all about money. If Spurs paid the dollar, Wembley would listen. Hoewver, as with transfers targets, we will always seek out the cheaper option. Hence Stadium MK the likely destination.
At least Morecambe have a new stadium, eh ? Always an angle in your posts ! Don't think I didn't notice !

Can't believe there are still people (Mr Knob) doubting that the stadium will still be built.

They have done a fairly large amount of ground work on the site already, which I can't see being done if they were not serious about building the stadium.

When the stadium will be completed is anyone's guess, but I have no doubt that Enic\Levy want the stadium to be built.
The stadium will be built, but not under ENIC

They have previous for this

I had a really bad dream yesterday set in the future

We're playing at Stadium mk and there is a very low attendance at a Capital One Cup game.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Wealdstone Raider appears and says his catchline "You've got no fans, you've got no ground".

And he's absolutely right :cry::cry::cry:

Interesting write up on the Spurs stadium fiasco in this Novembers WSC, page 22/23. (when saturday comes) Now, before I get spammed, riduculed or rebutted, please take time to read the article yourselves. However, here`s a brief summary. And remember, this is the highly respected WSC, not some red top gossip column.
It starts by pointing out that recent history shows our current capacity is woefully inadequate for a club with our fan base. We bank around 1million less than Arsenal for every home match for instance. However, there are many things EnIC could have done to address this issue long ago. The current stadium could quite easily have been expanded years ago. The club say this is not feasible, but wont explain why. The club also says the original plan to continue playing at WHL during construction is not feasible, but wont explain why. They say moving to wembley or the Olympic Stadium during construction is not feasible, but wont explain why. Now the move to Milton Keynes is being spun as the only alternative, but again, with no explanation given. It points out that the club claims to have the local community innterests at the heart of its plans, without explaining how moving away from the community for 1 or maybe more seasons and bankrupting the many local small businesses benefits the community. It doesn`t benefit the community of course, it destroys it. The magazine comes to the conclusion that ENIC puts their own financial gain first, the clubs future a very very distant second, and the local community a million miles away in third. They also believe that the ongoing shambles proves inconclusively that ENIC in general and Lewis and Levy in particular would not hesitate to allow a move to stadium MK to drag on to permanent tennancy with the club never moving to a new stadium or regenerated stadium in Tottenham, if they stood to make the most out of such an arrangement. Remember, ENIC will do what`s best for them. If that means moving the club to MK while selling off land around WHL for other commercial use and destroying the club we all know and love, then so be it. Their previous football investments should also be more closely scrutinised if one wants a proper insight into their motives and intentions. Our club is being slowly but surely destroyed by ENIC. They lie, they cajole, they extort, they charge the highest ticket prices. And they give us Fazio and Stambouli in return. For those who still believe a shiny new stadium and a glorious ENIC future lies around the corner, dream on. And once again, please take into account WSC is highly regarded in the football world as a force for good. Its seeks to make the game a better game. It strives to put the interests of supporters above all others.
ENIC OUT

Our current capacity is woefully inadequate? No shit, Sherlock! That's one perceptive article!

Does it explain just how ENIC could have expanded the existing stadium? This was discussed at some length way back in this thread and others, and anybody who's actually visited the Lane (or, failing that, who can read a map or interpret an aerial photograph) should be able to understand why scope for enlargement is strictly limited. Arsenal didn't up sticks just because the East Stand at Highbury had a listing slapped on it or because the locals objected to having their homes demolished; they realised that they'd be spending a lot of money for an increase in capacity of less than 10,000, which was nowhere near enough. The same would go for an expansion of WHL.

The reasons Wembley and the Olympic Stadium are out of court have been explained ad infinitum. If you haven't understood by now, it's unlikely you ever will.

If this pile of turd is typical of WSC 'journalism' I don't think I'll bother taking out a subscription.

What have Fazio and Stambouli to do with the price of fish?

If you really do believe all this cock about the Olympic stadium and Wembley are not being feasible then you really are one gullible fuck. I assume that you also believe the Archway fiasco is a genuine thorn in the side of Enics grand plans for us, and not the convenient delaying factor most unbiased observers percieve it to be. Every Media outlet without any Spurs bias., every neutral obeserver who`s shown an interest in the shambles is calling it to be exactly that. A fucking shambles. ENIC, fronted by Daniel Levy, have made a total fucking mess of the whole stadium redevelopement the club so badly needed when they took control. No-one else. Not Archway, not the fans, not the council, not Wembley, not Pickles. But ENIC. Accept it.

So, are you suggesting then that the club should have ignored the CPO and just bull-dozed the Archway site and got on with the build? Or maybe you think that the club paid the Minister to delay making a decision on the CPO to conveniently delay matters? The club obviously couldn't and wouldn't do that, and yes my questions are rhetorical as I know you realise that. The point is that you don't know what is going on behind the scene and neither do most of us. There are a few on here who have a lot of experience in these type of matters who are keeping us updated with the legalities as they apply to the new site. Their view are much appreciated by most on here, if not by you.

My question to you is why would the club (or ENIC) spend so much money on buying land over the last number of years only to delay just as they are about to get the final clearance to build? They would get more money for the club with the new stadium built than just with the planning permission as the aggravation factor in getting it built to someone else's spec. would carry a premium. Not everything in life is a conspiracy you know!
