From Skyscrapercity..

I got hold of some information, again like last time I posted a bit of info, It's not come from the top or made up, just conversation from within. I don't know if Chinese whispers have caused some of it be to inaccurate.

First thing is if you recall a meeting that Spurs had with the supporters trust and it was mentioned the time scale of the project. Two more seasons at WHL and one year away. It would mean that quite possibly there would be not only no mega store at WHL but no store at all. So based on the above informations that two more years that mega store will be there. But I heard that it's got a year until it shuts.

Now it could be that the relayed information was misunderstood and it was confused between Spurs leaving WHL for one year & moving in one year.

The second piece is... There is no shopping mall near MK Dons stadium so four so called "Pop up stores" would exist for match days (I think) around the area of Milton Keynes.

Again I don't know if this is fact because the location is decided or there was research done on all areas of a possible relocation.

I was interested to see that this was posted on skyscrapercity and then by me the other day but no one really said much, but then someone posted on skyscrapercity this very vague simple message 'My sources say Spurs are moving into MK Stadium for the 2017/18 season.' that was it, and that got more attention. lol.

It's one year, in the grand scheme of life it really doesn't matter one jot.

I'd like us to share the OS (for one year) but what can you do.

It's an absolute scandal if we are not allowed a year in the London tax payer funded stadium. Levy should have secured that year as a sweetener to drop our interest in getting OS permanently.

Probably didn't realise then that we'd have to move out.

I saw it a few days ago - but was a 'random' post from someone who hadn't posted on the Spurs stadium thread before, so its questionable as to its validity

It appears that the Archeological Advisory have now approved after having previously denied the application to remove the conditions previously in place under the original planning application. So if the Met Police get the surveys they have insisted and the waste water issue is sorted out it looks like the basement will go ahead...The only thing that remains is how will we get around the restriction on the capacity of the stadium. Hopefully Levy and his planners can come up with clever justifications to request a capacity increase based on the presumed upgrade to the stadium and the upgraded transportation facilities which should be able to cope with the increased number of fans maybe?

Found this paragraph in the 2010 application which offers hope though;

Operational Needs
3.41
The Club has a total membership of 70,000 including 23,500 current season ticket
holders with a waiting list of 21,000. An increased capacity of up to 60,000 would be
needed to accommodate the existing and additional season ticket holder, together with
the required 5% capacity allowance for away spectators.

So although the 56k capacity has been stated that did appear to only be the 'Club's brief' in the Overview of the Scheme, so it will be interesting to see if the Operational Need of a 60k capacity will take precedent in the actual planning approval & build process. Fingers crossed!

Not much new but apparently the sliding pitch looks amazing on CAD and he reckons NFL stuff will all be sorted by 10th September at latest. Wembley will get one more year.

EDIT: Almost forgot! They are considering making provisions for safe standing in the 'Kop' end.
I wonder if this safe standing provision is the reason we are getting mixed messages on the capacity?
ie 56K seated and 60K if/when the safe-standing is approved.
Just a thought.

Hope not. If arsenal retrofit safe standing into the Emirates they'll be at 70,000+
