Immigration officers on site this morning. No work started until 11:30. 9 people detained and to be deported.

Sounds like the construction company have been naughty boys

Imagine Levy won't be too happy if this happens again.

To be fair it is near on impossible to stop, I wouldn't blame them. Two of the boys I work with are Romanian and they say it's so easy for the non-EU Eastern Europeans (Ukranains, Albanians and Moldovans) to get fake Romanian ID cards and that's all you need.

Meanwhile progress on the Tottenham regeneration which directly affects the stadium.

10. WHITE HART LANE STATION APPROACH - ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES

The Cabinet Member for Housing, Regeneration and Planning introduced the report which sought approval for the appointment of a multi disciplinary consultancy team to support the Council in delivering the public realm around White Hart Lane Station. The project took into account the response from the public consultation and would provide highways and streetscape improvements along Love Lane, Penhurst Road and White Hart lane between Creighton Road and the High Road. The Transport for London LIP [Local Implementation Plan] would provide vital infrastructure required to progress the High Road West regeneration scheme, approved by Cabinet in December 2014 and wider regeneration, including the Northumberland Park Development project [Spurs Scheme]

RESOLVED

1. To award a contract in the sum of £529,560 to Muf Architecture/ArtLLP to undertake the delivery of public realm around White Hart Lane station between High road and Creighton Road and along White hart Lane.

2. To approve the use of the £122,000 LIP funding and subject to the Council’s Contract Standing Orders delegate authority to spend future funds drawn down from the LIP funding for project delivery.

3. To provide delegated authority to the Director of Regeneration, Planning and development, after consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration to agree any necessary modifications required to the contract in light of any changes to the scheme at no additional cost.

Reasons for Decision
Delivery of White Hart lane Station and surrounding public realm was a key component in the delivery of High Road West, Northumberland Development Project and the wider regeneration across North Tottenham. This in turn corresponds to the challenging objectives for improvements in social, economic and physical well-being in the Corporate Plan and associated strategies, Upper Lee Valley Opportunity Area and the London Plan.

Comment :

This is probably to get a proper architectural design to the preferred option for WHL station in this document

Warmington House is the one building that is going to be retained and not demolished, so I am interpreting this to mean that the monitors are being placed in Warmington House to ensure that it is not damaged in the course of the nearby demolition and construction - and to catch any damage early if any occurs.

I understood the three buildings were staying? Pub, Warmington, and the dispensary. Is it just the old clubhouse to remain?

I'm all for retaining classic architecture, and after all I like in an Edwardian house as do many in London. But I've got to say this is rather silly. At what point is the retention of Warmington House doing anybody any good within the grand scheme? Nuts (imho).

No all to go except Warmington House. Lower facade of Dispensary to be incorporated into the museum as is various architectural bits of the Red House including the panels and window from old board room.

Long time lurker with a couple of images from a stadium tour on Sunday. Firstly it looks like the core the the NW corner is underway/about to start going skywards. The carpark by the west stand is now a nice big pile of rubble and from looking at the NE corner it looks like a lot more of it has been closed off than I previously appreciated, there are metal fences in the west stand upper past the first pilar and on the north stand its up to the third stairway. I would be suprised if any seats are used in that corner at all next year. Also an interesting hole in the roof in the west stand, not really sure what that is for...

They were also putting up another tower crane on Sunday whilst I was there, amazed at how quickly they can put those together!

The original plan was to retain all the old buildings due to representations from EH and CABE but with the application for the new design permission was given to demolish them. Quite rights in my opinion.

Thanks. It is just from this view, it makes me wonder why this building is the one that will survive.

I'm sure the designers had their reasons, but I'm not sure what attractive features they see and would want to incorporate/blend into the new buildings that will join it. To me, it is a very dull building and the same colour as the mud in front of it.

If they had left one or both of the middle 2 buildings, they could have used the deep red brick colour, or the pointy roof features or the cute symmetrical windows. They look far more interesting.

It's the only one of the 3 that is nationally listed. Also it's set back from the High Road and doesn't cause the crowd pinch point that the other two did on matchdays.

If Warmington House was destroyed by lightning or some other unforeseen disaster, would THFC be obliged to rebuild it?

I imagine the owners would be, yes. The joys of owning listed property!
