behind the goals are where they want the atmosphere-makers to be, with the kop on the South stand and the away fans in the North stand, so encouraging the season ticket proles into those areas makes perfect sense for all.

But it affects lots of people. I sit in the west upper right on the half way line, it's an incredible view and I've sat there for 30 years.

I hate sitting behind the goal as I can't stand the view. Obviously I put up with it for away games but I would never get a season ticket behind the goal.

I pay a lot for my season ticket, but I'm not going to be prepared to pay more for the same view, or the same for a worse view, but that's the reality of what's going to happen. A view that costs £1000 at WHL will cost £3/4/5K at Naming Rights. I expect a lot of people will be in the same position, and reluctantly give it a miss as a result.

Behind the goal and in the gods will be comparable. Anything with a decent view will be £1.5K minimum
Honestly, you really believe that? I have been going to WHL for coming on for 40 years and have had a ST for way over 20 - in fact I have 2. I do not believe that everyone is going to sign up at super inflated prices straight away and I really don't think that it will be as easy as you reckon for Spurs to sell out. As it happens I was unable to go to the West Ham game - there was next to no interest on stub hub for example for the 1k plus tickets that were available on the eve of the match. I think there is a lot of spin from the club about general demand. All of this needs to be aligned with performance also. The club will need to look after current ST holders imo or suffer if things do go tits up. Just my opinion of course. Get in the stadium, sell out and then see where it takes you.

hertyid on coys: Boxes have already sold out 70% apparently. Although there are less boxes in the new stadium than the old one.
The focus is on the VIP seating which is like Club Wembley. Most of the cheaper seats 2500-2750+VAT have sold out. 3500 and upwards still have good availability.

For me free beer at HT and some sandwiches is basically pointless. I wouldn't make use of it. And there's no way I could drink 60 quid's worth of beer in 15 minutes. So it's not worth it.

ST prices will def increase substantially. Arsenal ST start at just over 1000 and go up to above 2000 (for normal seats). My mate pays 1380 for a pretty bog standard seat. I can't see WHL being any different. So 25-40% increase sounds about right*.

*This is based on the fact our VIP seats are almost identical to Arsenal.... 2900-5750 is their pricing band, and we are 3000-6500 (all inc VAT).
I know there is room for more boxes but its interesting that we have gone for less boxes as for NFL stadiums tend to focus on this more than anything else

Won't need much encouragement.
You say that, but bear in mind that the Kop alone in 17k. I reckon that only about 12k of our current

I'm not saying it's right, but if one were looking at it purely from a financial point of view, as long as the demand is there, the only reason not to raise prices is to keep the atmosphere and not drive away those fans that make that atmosphere.

With all due respect, those of you sitting on half way line in the West stand are not making the atmosphere. So while it's not good from a loyalty pov, purely financially if someone else will pay more for your seat, it makes sense to up the price.

You can always go to the upper tier in eat or West stand if you really want to sit on the half way line but don't want to pay more.

West Ham was a different story because you had to be a member to buy on Stubhub before a certain date. Other games are a free for all.

Hopefully people boycott touthub more often.

I've never had a season ticket, do the club expect full payment upfront or do they offer monthly payment schemes?
Surely charging 3k up eleminates about 80% of the public, that's a lot of disposable income over a year.

Are you guys aware that Spurs have the wealthiest fans (highest average income) of any club in the UK?

The more you charge, the wealthier your fan base has to be to be, because only the wealthy ones can afford the prices.

So to put it another way, the more they put up the prices, the richer we fans get! Hooray!

You can pay it off monthly.

Most old Chelsea fans are not from Fulham area. Traditionally they are a very slightly upmarket Millwall.
I know the old school Chelscum are very slightly upmarket Millwall, but I was thinking more of the modern fan (or customer, as the club would say). Surely in this era of gentrified football stadiums, Chelscum would be up near the top of the wealth league. Shame their financial wealth isn't matched by civilised behaviour.

I found an old ticket from 2001 a few weeks ago and the price was £29 so it's barely changed in 15 years!

Income isn't an indicator of disposable income.
I earn more than some people but they don't have children and mortgages so have spare cash.

@SurreySpur82 - £29 playing who and sitting in what stand?
One game can cost £34 in one stand and another game can cost £79 in another stand this season.

.

Of course, but a low income certainly is a reasonable general indicator of a low disposable income.

And we're talking about averages anyway.

Charge very high prices and on average your customers be be wealthier people. This is usually the case in most competitive businesses.

I was just making an ironic comment about how higher prices make us richer. They don't, obviously. You get that, don't you?
