My understanding (from spending too much time on Sky Scraper City) is that the 'critical path' of the project is the knocking down of the current stadium, the building of the south stand, the sliding pitch and the roof - none of which can be started until we move out.

With the current plan to move out for a season, these jobs will need to be completed during the 14 or so months that would be available as we play at Wembley. The horse shoe bit of the new stadium can easily be finished in this time (as it can still be worked-on at the same time as the southern end of the site) - so there is no reason to delay the move to Wembley because of that.

So, delaying the move to Wembley for a year will not affect the timings of this critical path - we would still have the same amount of work to do in the same timeframe.

That is why any delay to our move to Wembley is more likely going to be due to TFL and Harringey not getting their arses in gear regarding rebuilding the new WHL station and other public realm works - hence Levy's leaked letter the other week.

Totally agree which is why I remain convinced we are going this summer, any delay in the council related work does not affect the stadium building work, why on earth would we stop work on the stadium just because a railway stadium hasn't been upgraded? It makes no sense at all.

I expect that the most likely reason for the delay in confirming the move to Wembley is Haringey council, I stumbled across this the other day which makes reference to the money that Haringey are meant to be giving to Spurs for public realm works and the like.

Haringey have a meeting on April 27th in which they will hopefully make a cabinet member decision approving the already agreed contributions to the project hence Levy not committing until this is 100% confirmed.

All this for 7.5m ?

Well, even if nothing happens surely Levy isnt going to hold off 800m project down to 7.5m...But Levy being Levy, I understand why we would want to wait for this.

There's a couple of ITK people on SSC claiming that stewards have started receiving their contracts for working at Wembley next season. Behind the scenes it seems the move is all go.

Backs up nicely what I posted at the weekend after talking to a steward.

I think it's more to do with getting the increased amount of people in and out of the area safely, which an upgraded railway station would help with.

Local authorities are a joke. I've been waiting on an order from a London Borough for 4 months now. I know that the funding is in place but completely amateurish.

Mine is only worth £120k goodness knows what the club are making of Haringey. Councils hold back planning progress through poor management.

That's very likely why Levy is making a fuss but I can't see any reason that would stop work on the stadium.

It wouldn't. But I don't think people realise how important getting the transport proposals done is to the success of this project. During the planning phase I spent a lot of time going through the transport proposals (transport planning is a nerdy obsession of mine) and the plans by Tottenham looked awfully optimistic. Shuttle buses to nearby stations, WHL station improvements, new rolling stock for increased capacity. While all are necessary, they still leave a lot to be desired. Even the increased passenger numbers for the new rolling stock looked ambitious, with TFL saying these will be lower than THFCs projections in their feedback.
This was all brought up in the planning meeting, but Haringey had a "it'll be spurs's problem if they get it wrong" policy. So merely brushed over the issue.
What would happen if one of these major schemes wasn't finished, such as a new station? Well spurs will still need to get a safety certificate once it's complete, and to not get one for 61,000 spectators due to not being able to safely get people away will be a terrible bit of PR for the new ground, let alone annoying the banks who have funded the thing believing it'll be taking 61,000 paying customers.

That leaves us with the current problem Levy has, and trying to kick Haringey up the but is no small feat. As I'm sure many of us know.

NDP – Heritage/Public Realm Grant Decision Made & Approved

Haringey Council have approved entering into a Grant arrangement with THFC for the £7.5m of funding for their contribution towards the heritage and public realm part of the NDP – for draw down in 2017/18. £500K has previously been allocated making their contribution a total of £8m. The total sum involved is £27m, from which the London Mayor is dedicating £18m from His budget ( Thank you Boris – 2012).

This probably means its all green for the stadium move end of this season, atleast from a funding or Government deliverables perspective.

No kudos to me for these, a new poster called GL3N on skyscrapercity.com went to the trouble of finding the exact locations of the renders in the planning submittal and took photos of where we are today versus where we will be when done. If you're a member all likes to him on SSC

GL3N:

Good evening everyone!

I popped down to White Hart Lane on Wednesday and took some pictures from the ongoing work. I have put them against the proposed renders for the new stadium... ( I know some of the renders are older without the new design, my apologies ! )
