Most of the weight it going to be taken by these two mothers:

The structure of the south stand is pretty much all steelwork as opposed to concrete everywhere else. Once reason, SPEED. It will fly up way quicker than the rest of the stadium, and as there is a large atrium there is less to fit out compared to all the floors everywhere else.

hope those supports aren't from a giant cockerel buried upside down:eek:

The steelwork is looking impressive but there is some serious digging going on in front of the north stand too.
I have been wondering why they are digging and it occurs to me that the whole surface within the stadium is just the old surface from when it was the industrial site and Paxton road so what that means is that they are now onto removing something like six feet of soil to create a true base for the pitches.
Strikes me that if they are doing that in august 2017 the pitches will undoubtedly be ready to play on by august 2018 and if the South end steelwork continues rising at that rate so will that stand and therefore I imagine so would the roof, all dependant on the fitting out then surely.

It'll be ready. They know more about all this than you sweet cheeks.

They wont be removing all that soil, what they're digging are basement access points and pile caps by the looks of it. The NFL pitch is synthetic grass so doesn't need decent soil and our pitch will be a separate entity entirely formed in trays so it can be rolled out under the south stand.

Cheers, I was just goingby the depth of the surface compared to the bottom of the stands, I thought it might need to be deeper for the NFL sightlines.

With all the talks about the size of the pitch at Wembley. Anyone knows what the dimensions at new WHL will be?

*New Stadium pitch 105x68m
*WHL 100x67m,smallest in PL
*Wembley 105x69m
Why are nwhl and wembley different? Thought they had to be uefa regulation size. Which one isn't?

And this is why we asked for the Wembley pitch to be made smaller, i.e. to take it down to the standard PL size, not the size of the WHL pitch, as some of the rags stated.

UEFA only have minimum guidelines (which Wembley exceeds) from recollection. Not a set standard as there are so many different sized stadia over the years.

For you to be the top class UEFA categorised stadium (class 4) you have to have a 105m long, 68m wide pitch. Exactly what we're getting at NWHL. Old White Hart Lane would have been a Category 1 or 2 due to the small size of the 100m long x 67m wide pitch:

Cheers, didn't realise it was minimum size. Thought all new pitches had to be those dimensions to be cat 4.
