So boring calling me out for every post that isn’t “woohoo this is most perfect stadium ever built”. Anyway can disagree all you like but you’d be hard pressed to find another major football club stadium with less obvious signage. I’m not even saying it’s a bad thing it’s just a fact, and agree sometimes less is more. The emirates massive paintings or whatever the fk they are look horrendous. As for them putting it in later, unless they are putting on stuff that’s not on the renders seems unlikely. The whole point was that I doubt this has happened by coincidence and it’s likely a conscious decision in regard to its use as multi purpose.

I can't see it being Chelsea as the Inter game the week after has to be played at Wembley, would be stupid to finally go home only having to go back to Wembley a few days later.

Due to how much it costs the club I get the feeling Levy hates every game that we have to play at Wembley. If it's ready for Chelsea and the police will allow it, I think we'll open with Chelsea. That said, I don't think it'll be ready plus I don't think the police will be happy about it, so Burnley looks a likelier option at this point.

It's just not their style mate.

If it can't be the Chelsea game, why not the Southampton game instead of Burnley?

I'm not sure a midweek fixture is ideal for the first game. Even with the test events the first league game will be a test in itself. We'll see how the transport links work. Ideally we need an afternoon game where there's plenty of time before and after to get to and from the ground.

Ah for some reason I thought it was a Sunday game. Yeah a midweek game wouldn't be best.

My guess would be that we would prefer the first game to be a weekend one. The first time 62,000 fans descend on the new stadium with the same transport links I imagine there would be a greater risk of issues during the week when most people would be getting to the stadium at roughly the same time.

Not half as boring as reading every post stating that this isn’t the most perfect stadium ever built. Especially as it looks to be a pretty special stadium.

On transport links. How is this going to work. From what I've seen there won't be any improvement before mid 2019 when the new WHL station completes?

The network struggled with our old home games let alone another 20k fans! Or am I missing something here?

Lol I probably made a dozen posts yesterday saying just that. Obviously just look at selective posts.

Only because you were called out on it and now you can say ‘hey look, here’s some nice things. Now I can get back to nitpicking.’

Did the network struggle? I never really found that to be the case, everybody seemed to get away ok didn't they.

edmonton on first game: even Levy doesn’t know yet. Other senior staff if pushed have the opinion of Burnley.
on chelsea: Police problem
Ridiculous if true. We pay them enough to police the games rather than pretend they can't manage it.

Ok cool. I guess I must have somewhere missed the part in the rules that every post had to be a glowing response. But it’s noted won’t post anything remotely negative regarding the stadium ever again as this obviously is against the rules.

On one hand I understand where they're coming from -- safety should come first. It's also in the club's interest for the first game to go through without any hiccups. That said, as someone who made plans in July to fly in for this game, if security is the only reason we choose to wait until Burnley that will be pretty disappointing. Definitely seems like they should be able to handle it.

You're welcome to give your opinion - but everyone else is welcome to give theirs on what you've said.

Like 'why are you seemingly being so negative about something which is shaping up to be so positive'...etc.

I think the work at Northumberland Park to add a new track and quite a lot of trains to Stratford should be done - was certainly meant to but don't know if it's actually happened or not.

I mean if it comes to it we should be allowed to just zero the away allocation. Not our fault their support are a bunch of vile racist thugs.
