There are so many people with zero knowledge of the construction industry who feel entitled to pontificate on how simple it should be to rectify an integrated, software-controlled, multi-purpose alarm system for a 62k stadium. Y'know, it's just like a portable fire extinguisher, or the smoke alarm in a takeaway. Nothing like automated lifts and escalators that stop when an alarm is triggered, automatically-operated smoke vents, exit doors that fly open, software that integrates input from smoke sensors, CO sensors and heat sensors, illuminated signage to indicate escape routes, notification of the Fire Brigade and other emergency services...
I reckon they're the same people who kept braying on in a paranoid manner about how it was all a misdirection, how the whole stadium build was months behind and the problems with the alarm system and its wiring couldn't possibly be causing so much delay. Plainly, it could and it has.
FFS. So much arrogance.
