One minor disappointment to me is the choice not to illuminate the stands during the game. It's something I've always disliked about the Emirates at night. Prefer what you see at Celtic or Anfield - the fans in the stands visible. Hope they'll experiment with going the other way.
Having spent a few decades hanging out with Spurs fans I can confirm they look much better with the lights turned off.

I don’t know who said it on here but apparently the ground staff aren’t happy with the pitch and redoing it all at the end of season

I’m in touch with our head groundsman on twitter and he’s said no such thing. Said he’s very happy with everything. If you hadn’t noticed it absolutely poured down 30 minutes before KO.

The Emirates should always be in total darkness.....:blackalien:

Just saw the away dressing room in palace ig stories. Very like the away room in the old white hart lane indeed

Saw it too. Think bad move as you want to impress teams. Although it could be temporary and they are concentrating on more important parts of the stadium.

It still isn't finished.

Isn’t the back of Liverpool’s Kop end purposefully left in darkness to give the impression it goes further than it does?
I prefer that, makes the place feel more cavernous than it actually is.

Just repeating what others have said, I’m north stand level 4 and they did run out of beer. I’m sure they will learn to manage stock but when other parts of the ground have burger joints, pizza places and proper bars. It is disappointing when all north level 4 has is four tap in food outlets without any beer.

And yeah, the north stand concourses could have been a bit bigger. Couldn’t move in some parts of the ground.

Otherwise though a fantastic opening night. Ground will be a great place to watch football.

Oh, and that south stand needs to find its voice soon. I was actually impressed with the guys around me, we gave it a good go. But couldn’t compete with the away fans. But that lower tier on the south have no excuses not to make a racket, they’re stood up the entire game. ?

It is finished and it is intended to be like that, uncomforatbale and small. IT isn’t designed to unsettle opponents

Absolutely blown away by the stadium. Was really worried about the view as I’m quite far back in west upper but it’s brilliant. It’s so steep!

We are so lucky to have this as a home ground!

My gripes would be, concourse is a bit narrow?! Wembley much wider. Also, complete lack of seating in the concourse. Maybe I was spoilt by Club Wembley but nowhere in NWHL to sit, eat and drink?! Strange. In this day and age how can you not make it comfortable for punters. Standing whilst drinking and eating is just poor. I can’t see how people will be making this and pre and post entertainment destination with no seats.

Walk and queue back to seven sisters was long. I’m going to look at alternative ways of getting home. Already dreading city on Tuesday as that’s an 8pm kick off.

Sorry didn't realise you were itk on this. Still think it's wrong. We want to be the biggest and best team in the world not wimbledon pissing in their tea urn.

The stadium is not finished.

Wembley has a shallower rake and an extra 30k capacity. It's footprint is probably almost double the size of ours.

I think they need to go back and seal sections off.
I was in he north stand and it was impossible to get near the bars before the game but that’s because you had the while north lower and most of the north upper trying all at once.

The upper tiers should be locked to use their facilities up there.

Excellent stadium. Disappointed with north and west stands as fans hardly sang
Really? I was in north lower block 113 and we was singing loads.

I think people over egg what how good whl was for atmosphere. As a fan base we aren’t great tbh but imo tonight was excellent.

I went in expecting nothing from the north stand but was pleasantly surprised. Got told to sit down a few times but oh well. Seems like there are a few around me up for trying to make a noise, but the mix of families and away fans below us means we are hardly going to rock the place.

Agree about the seating and the comments about the concourse. I think after the initial matches I will revert to habits from the old ground, i.e. eating elsewhere before or after; if I want to stand and eat I can always buy from the local shops and stand outside and eat. Shame really I think they have missed a trick
