I doubt there will be any news whilst we are low in the league and financial markets are in turmoil

The designs are all finished afaik. I'm told it's a standard bowl, Stadium of Light with blue seats.

Sunderland mate :bang:

I was told by someone who's seen the designs 'Stadium of Light with blue seats'.

Surely it would be a variation on that, rather than an exact replica. There's no enough executive boxes there for a start

Sorry mate, crossed wire - I wasn't getting at you, I was banging my head that our new stadium is going to look to be straight out of a doityourself box and look like every new stadium in England.

In answer to the guy above, I'm sure Danny will have demanded a layer of boxes, I don't think it's an exact replica, that's just how it was described to me.

It will not have Ha'WAY THE LADS on the seating but it will have a teriffic playing surface it and it will have a Golden Cockeral towering proudly over it and whats more it will have glorious League and European cup winning games played in it.

That'll do me!

God i don't think i could be any less exited about the stadium now, why oh why can't we satisfy both the corporate monkeys and the fans, it seems that you can only do one or the other these days.

Agreed, why the fuck should we have another "off the shelf" stadium that looks 95% similar to every other new stadium being built. Come on, a bit of imagination is needed, I mean we need a statement, something to be proud of, not just another Emirates!

At least our new soulless stadium will suit our soulless team.

As long as they get the acoustics right I don't give a fuck what it looks like.

The Stadium of Light has a decent atmosphere doesn't it? So I don't see the problem.

My exact initial thoughts too!

Would be nice if they'd build one of the stands as a replica deign of the Shelf

 engineer it properly to ensure it's possible to get a good bounce going!

I'm not worried about what it looks like from the outside (after all, compared to its surroundings it's going to look palatial!) but I'd like it to be very cosy inside, with the fans right on top of the pitch - to ensure a really hostile, in-your-face atmosphere.

I guess an off-the-shelf design is cheaper? Hope we get padded seats like they have the emirates. Got to at least try to keep up with the neighbours!
