Doing Newcastle away for the first time on Wednesday. Anybody got any experience up there and know where the best away pub will be?

One of the few places I have never been and I doubt I'll ever make it now.

Surely it should be an Haway Pub ?

I lived up there for 4 years, loads of boozers to choose from. As an away fan i'd steer clear of the Bigg Market but the rest of Newcastle is a cracking night out. It's been a while since i've been there mind you, but friends still say that the Quay Side is the best place to go. Like I said, take your pic. The Toon is black and white on match day and for the most part, pretty friendly.

I lived their for eight years and have to concur with the above post, the Bigg Market, is rough, the quayside is much more up market, and is further from the ground.

Jimmy's Bar in the waterside hotel is one of the quietest, it's opposite the swing bridge.

Thanks for the replies guys, but I'm looking for specific pubs which Spurs fans will use pre-game. I suppose someone who's been to Newcastle away a few times before will be able to point me..

Sam Jack's usually has a mix of home and away fans, all pretty good banter and one of the away fans usually attempts that challenge that involves a pint of cream, lager and soda water.

The pub that is straight across from the train station as you come out on to the street usually has a decent sized crowd of Spurs fans in my experience
