14 years it took them and finally they are going somewhere

We are 21 years under the little goblin and still counting
If keeping Levy and never winning a trophy again is the price we pay for avoiding becoming the plaything of a regime that bombs, murders, imprisons dissidents and chops up journalists with a bone saw then it’s a price I’m happy to pay. I’ve supported Spurs for 40 years but would bin them off without a thought if they were bought up by this mob.

Their fans are actually terrible. The shit Steve Bruce has had off them has been ridiculous.

Mike Ashley has run them as he could have afforded to as well. Yet they’ve given him untold shit. It’s not like he saddled them with loads of debt or drive them towards administration like owners of lots of clubs have done. He must have the worst PR in world football.

They’ll be unbearable now. Just wait and see.

I'm not sure I agree. As someone who lives in Newcastle, I can tell you that they're no better or worse than any other fans and working in town, I've seen thousands on match day. Like any club, they get a few idiots and mostly decent fans.

As far as Ashley goes, all they've ever wanted is for someone to have some ambition. If Ashley had been like Levy and wanted to see the club fighting for top 4, they'd have taken it like a shot. He just had no ambition beyond ending up one place above the drop zone or that certainly seemed to be the case anyway. Added to that, look at some of the appointments that he made - Dennis Wise, Steve McLaren, Joe Kinnear and their first team coach too at one point. No clue whatsoever.

If it was us I'd like to think the support would try to stop a Saudi takeover. Or at least put up a fight. Not too confident that would happen but I'd hope at least not show up at the stadium dressed up as Saudis and dancing like fucking grateful peasants. Fucking shameful. Gonna be the new PSG, the new City, the new Chelsea.

There's a divide in this country between the supporters who would be dancing in the streets at something like this and the supporters who'd be fighting it tooth and nail. United supporters wouldn't tolerate this. I doubt Scousers would either. I'd hope we'd be on the right side of that divide.
Both of these clubs have had success relatively recently though. A lot easier to take the moral high ground when that’s the case. Whilst I agree with you about the side of the divide I’m on, the desperation many fans have for success will outweigh the issues with the ownership. Bit like smoking, we know it’s terrible, but still choose to do it.

just read his comments in full. utterly laughable. apparently it's OK because the Saudi's are already invested in the country.

and the fans have no say in how the club is run so we can't criticise them either. except, it was fine for the fans protest and crticise Ashley at every turn, presumably because he didn't spend billions.

This is why I thought the media's reaction to the ESL, as well as pundits like Neville and Lineker, etc, was a complete joke.

It's one thing arguing that the ESL would be bad for football for practical reasons, but arguments against it on moral grounds have no founding.

If you've let the owners of City and Chelsea into the game, and you don't criticise them at every opportunity, then why should I listen to anything you have to say about "morals" in other areas of the game?

And all the while, those who pontificate about ethical behaviour, are making millions off the back of broadcasting deals, whose employers, the media companies, make even more from the unethical behaviour of these owners.

And now they're turning a blind-eye to an owner who DETAINED, TORTURED, MURDERED AND MUTILATED ANOTHER HUMAN BEING!!!

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!??

Do the people in the media not see this?

Are we all taking crazy-pills now?

No they hate Ashley because he asset stripped the club and took them from a Europe regular to the Championship.

Well, I feel sorry for you having to live there now. They’re about to make your spurs supporting football life hell.

Tbh I'm glad I've got into NBA since last year, never thought I'd enjoy and get invested in basketball but its great. With this, even more reason why it might just become my favourite sport to watch soon.

Lets go Nets!

Breaking news : In addition to the Champions League , the Europa League, and The European Conference League, UEFA are set to announce a new competition that will begin next season and follow a unique format. The newly formed competition will be called the Sportswashing Corruption Cup. It will have 4 entrants and clubs can only qualify if they have a threshold of billions of money gained from dubious sources. All teams will play each other 12 times, home and away, at locations in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, Paris, the east side of Manchester and Newcastle with the remaining games being played at overseas locations where this questionable source of wealth came from, and the top 2 will battle it out in a final neutral venue somewhere between Russia and the Middle East. Most likely the Olympic stadium in Baku in Azerbeijan.
Hand picked and bribed match officials will be selected and money will also exchange hands with VAR officials whose names will be annonomysed. A hefty commission will be charged by UEFA to validate this tournament with monies being paid to them in unnamed Swiss Bank Accounts ......

We all used to laugh about getting into the Europa league and once we were in the champions league looked down on it. Well, getting the fourth champions league spot will soon be like winning the league and getting into the Europa league will be an achievement. Wonderful.

There is absolutely no guarantee this will work out for the barcodes. They cheer and imagine being up their with Chelsea Citeh and PSG but let's be honest you have to be careful what you wish for. Anyway their first game under new ownership is against us. Lets give them a nice loss to begin their tenure.
