I agree 100% I just want our chairman and manager to be prepared by the start of the season. This is happening every season.

Can't really blame manager if he doesnt sign the players not blaming levy either just anoid that we had ADE on loan all season and had all that time plus the summer to either do the deal or move on I'm staying positive don't know for how long

For me Walker was worse than BAE

agreed he was poor and somewhat glen johnson like. His mistake led to the first goal, but the good news is he is still very young, he has a really good coach now (to me anyway) and another promising young right back on the bench who will hopefully push him for a place all season

we missed adebayor more than luka... we had limited options in the final third cos defoe cant hold the ball up. really need Ade in a spurs shirt

Why is it spurs fans think we have a divine right to three points or even a point whenever we play. We played well and deserved a point today. It didn't happen, we were unlucky hitting woodwork twice and they could easily have been down to ten men. We made some silly errors at the back. Defoe actually did ok but yes we need a striker very soon.

My newcastle supporting mate just text me saying how lucky they were and that we deserved more from the game.

If we bring in a few faces in the next few days everything could be a lot different. So all the knee jerk posters may have to eat some humble pie

People are knocking Walker, but he made a mistake by not judging the flight of the ball......an error of judgement that was out by about 10cm.

Apart from gifting Ba the goal, i dont know what else he did wrong. He got up and down all game and laid on a great chance for Defoe, which if he had scored, everyone would be piping Walker off.

There are gonna be teething issues in the early games, but the positive is we already look like a team - and with the necessary additions we are crying out for, we will beat a lot of teams.

I thought there were some very promising signs in the game but there were also signs of the old weaknesses we have all been well aware of for some time. Hopefully with a player or 2 bought to strengthen in key areas and we will have a good season.

Better team for an hour by acres. Simpson should have been off & we should have been 1 up at half time

Good strike & a poor personal error did us. Newcastle were not very good

Thought Sigurdsson was good & should have stayed on & left it too late with subs, but on whole really liked how we went about it

It's not a shock that we've removed our top scorer and team's heartbeat without replacing them & we've come up short.

It's as impressed as I've been with a loss for a while as the idea is there, we just need the players

what was the score after an hour if we were so good or better by acres???

if newcastle wont very good whats that say about us??

looking back over match i cant of anything what sigurdsson did but im sure he will be decent signing. deserved to come off

you impressed bu that loss says it all for me, sorry, top teams dont defend like that away at place like that. we gifted them the win and while im sure iwill get the usual bulland usual suspects on here shooting me down for been pessimistic that defeat was always going to happen. sad state of affairs. all talk and no action as usual with spurs players when it counts. we were harmless even with our goal we got very lucky, if u watch closely you will see defoes header was going mile wide from 4 yeards out and only for hitting defenders head and coming back into keepers area ,it wud have been shocking miss. like i said in earlier post we got what we deserved, nothing .

thought we played well and can feel unlucky to not get at least a point

we need to get players in and im very annoyed that we are back in this situation again but i do think we showed some positive play and can build on this

not many teams will go there and beat newcastle imo thought they looked a useful team

At least the manager has said we are bringing in a striker, we played well today without a striker who can hold the ball up and play in a lone striker role.

Arsenal played today, both of their new strikers played and they looked absolute dog shit. Santi looked amazing but no good having amazing midfielders if you have average strikers. Chill people, they struggled at home to Sunderland and think a point is ok now we've lost...away to Newcastle...who finished 5th....and have some very good players. Sunderland had Fraizer Campbell and Saha ffs, our rejects:)

I'm not sure we desperately need a CM, I'd rather put all of the Modric money towards two strikers. But if Moutinho wants to join, you won't see me complaining!

you think we would be ok with livermore starting until parker returns? His an ok player but he is no luka modric, and what if sandro gets injruied as it nearly looked like he was, then fan favourite JJ plays

for me we need..
2 strikers
Goalkeepr
CM - creative
ideally a wide forward to cover lennon/bale

we'll probably just end up with Ade but thats discussion for 00:01 september 1st know doubt

Yes. That was stark. JD did what he could but he's never lone striker. What once looked like a yawning chasm without Modric, wasn't so terminal looking out there. Had he been there I think we'd have utterly bossed the game from start to finish but we weren't utterly cack either as has been the case previously without his nibs in the middle.

Anyhoo, if we get ourselves a striker capable of playing as a #9, whichever one it is, and being greedy here, Moutinho as well I think we'll be a real threat.
