looking to next season its clear what we need to approve upon.
either defending a lead, or killing a game off and finishing our chances on goal.

Rather than speculate who we might buy, instead i will trust Juande to buy in the right guys for the job. But who do you think will be challenging us for a top 5 spot?

Ar5ena1 - cant see Wenger having much money to spend, and although he is shrewd enough to pick up some bargains, i feel they need a big name striker, especially since they are without Eduardo. Dont see them being close to Man utd or Chelsea, but closer to us, everton and liverpool.

Liverpool - I can imagine they will be active in the transfer market and strengthen the team at the back, reckon they could close the gap on Arsenal next year and close in on a 3rd place. Crucial for them is the fitness of Torres and Gerrard.

Everton - I think some people on here really under rate them, personally i think they have a very good system. There back line is brilliant. Howard is a very safe keeper, Hibbert though not a big name is reliable, Jagielka has settled in nicely, and I rate Yobo. Lescott is becoming one of the best left backs in the league. In Cahill they have a great attacking midfielder, something i hope modric can do for us. and it means they can go with 5 in midfield and have either johnson or yakubu to get the goals. not also forgetting they have Phil neville as a solid versitle player, and the youth of Anichebe and the attacking prowess of Arteta.

The others - Though i think Harry Redknapp has built a very good team with his budget i cant see Portsmouth being more than a top 7 or 8 team. Likewise can be said of Villa. And although Man City are being linked with Big name players i just dont think they are ready to step up yet, espically if they lose key players like richards and dunne at the back. Im not even gonna mention Newcastle.

After two good campaigns before this one, i cant wait to see what next year has in store for us, and see us battle against the big teams, though i see the challenge of breaking the 'big 4' even harder as each year goes on. I wouldnt swap our cup win this year as it made the season have a worth to it. But not fussed about the cups as much next year and feel we have to make it a priority to do well in the league and wipe the smile off our neighbours and push them into 5th (like we should have done a few seasons ago)

Your absolutely right when you say that breaking into the top 4 will be very hard next season, just getting into the top 6 is going to take quite a feat!Look at the clubs that will be fighting out in the league for European places next year - Manchester United,Chelsea,Liverpool,Arsenal,Portsmouth,Everton,Newcastle,Aston Villa,Manchester City and Spurs!
Of the top clubs I cannot see United buying too many players maybe a new right back and a striker to replace Saha.
According to some rumours Chelsea will be changing quite a few areas especially up front with the probable lose of Drogma!
Liverpool - I don't think that they will be buying too many players,Alonso will probably return to Spain and they will get Gareth Barry to replace him.
Arsenal - I think they will definitely buy a few players probably a striker,a midfielder and a centre half.
I think they will buy top quality players because again the rumours are that Wenger has a budget of £70 million to spend!
It will be a miracle if we can break into the top 4 next year as Ramos has a lot of rebuilding to do but we can live in hope!

Score more goals, and concede less. It's a winning combination.

I'm worried that after all our optimism for next season, if we don't start well the fans will get on the back of the players and staff anf could be a nother shit season.

We need to get 3 points from bottom half teams in the away fixtures. That will be big. Also if we lose Berbs, I'll miss him, but I still think we're good enough to push for the 4th spot if we can hold onto leads, but I don't by any means expect 4th.

Well I'm confident we will not repeat the same dodgy start again. But I agree the key will be beating the lower placed teams both home and away.
