Well, I'm guessing and going out on a limb here, but I know for a fact that when we signed Gylfi, he was a Levy signing. ITK thread watchers/veterans will remember how I broke it a few days prior to it being announced by using the first world of each paragraph to spell 'Gylfi'in the opening post of the daily thread.

I'd like to add a couple of things here. I do not know if Levy still chooses players, all I know for a fact is that on that occasion he did but it wouldn't be unreasonable to think there have been others, so the question must be has that stopped now.

Secondly, there's been a small amount of ITK recently about Pochettino and the current goings on at the club which have received lets us call it 'dubious' responses. That stops right now, you can read it, take it with some salt and move on but if you get narky, personal or abusive toward it, you'll be out on your ear.

ta.

Rumours on Jack Clarke being similar aint there old fruit?

How do you know this? Since we have now shown we have some money to spend, why wouldn't managers want to use that as a condition for them coming here? It's not like Leipzig are poor.
They have signed 12 players since Nagelsmann took over for a total of $63.27million and six left for $21.66million. In his last season at Hoffenheim they spent $36.48 million on players so was basing it on his track record.

I was comparing it to what a Jose Mourinho or Allegri would want to spend.

Would be the completely wrong appointment for us - if we sack Poch we need need a big name manager who is going to come in and command respect instantly from the squad and bring a winning mentality. I'm going to start sounding like the twitter mob here, but he hasn't actually won anything and has only just moved to Leipzig.
I agree he has won nothing but neither has Poch and he has had 5 years with an amazing squad for a few of those years. Now I sound like the Twitter mob!!!!

Feels like as a club we are on the verge of having to spend big to keep up the momentum and keep up with the best. I've got a feeling that it won't be Poch that levy brings out the war chest for. A bit sad yes, given that past managers have probably wanted a massive transfer budget and not got it, but that is where we are with out club now. We have only just turned the corner and built the foundations to spend that money wisely.

I just think it'd be a sideways step for us, another young manager with a new 'project' - ya know?

Some chatter on the interweb today that we are looking at Nagelsmann should Poch go. Would be a massive call as everyone and his dog would bang on about his age if he starts to fail. However he fits the Levy/Enic way as he would be relatively inexpensive and not demand massive transfer fees.

He did very well at Hoffenheim and Leipzig are currently 2nd in the Bundesliga with the largest Goal difference in the league. Would be an interesting one if he came.

Chatter on the interweb... . Jeeeez don't do it to yourself, SC!

It'll be Edward Howe On Earth leading us to back to back Europa quarter finals over the next next couple of seasons mark my bitter words.

If we had to do a caretaker who would it be ? Maybe Hughton might end up in a Ole or Sherwood situation.

Any manager we get is going to want money to spend. Because we have it.

Lee Bowyer has worked wonders at Charlton with a chairman that makes Levy look just a bit less shit. He'd work wonders with the budget baldy would put in front of him. Nuggety results based football.

Can’t believe some would turn their nose up to José Mourinho. JOSÉ MOURINHO. Laughable.
I think it’s clear it’s the beginning of the end with a Poch.
Does anyone really have any confidence that Pochettino will ever win a trophy for us. I don’t.
If José turned up next week that would immediately change.
He is a winner. I serial trophy winner.
Forget about 5 year plans. Get an experienced manager in who can win us trophies now. Mourinho is that man.
He wouldn’t even need wholesale changes. We have a top quality squad with top players already here.
Whether we could get him is an entirely different matter.
Failing that I’d take Ancelotti/Allegri/Benítez.
Those turning their noses up at José would soon change their tune if he ended up at Arsenal.
Imagine that.?

I currently quite like the idea of us playing some shit footy and only having a Europa league and say a league cup to show for it.

Way things are the only difference between us now, and that outcome, is two trophies.

Yeah they are not quite as fancy as the Audi cup but they will do.
