Are Spurs serious about Zaniolo?

At the moment, Roma fans are still hoping that Tammy Abraham, new signing Paulo Dybala and Nicolo Zaniolo will be on the attacking team from now on. As the "Gazzetta dello Sport" reports, however, some Tottenham players recently invited the Italian player over to them after the friendly against the Giallorossi (0: 1). In addition, Spurs coach Antonio Conte is said to be a big fan of the 23-year-old Conference League champion, who is also involved with Juventus. A transfer fee of 50 million euros plus a player from London such as Tanguy Ndombele or Giovanni Lo Celso are under discussion.

BTW: Wijnaldum is in Rome to sign a loan deal.

€50m plus a player on top is a very large fee. Hard to stomach that.

Don’t like it.
Is it plus a player? I would've thought we'd add players to bring the 'value' up to 50m.
Maybe plus a player on loan but no way a perm (unless it's Ndombele, of course!).

This sounds pretty plausible. I’d imagine a decent size loan fee and then obligation based on number of matches played/CL qualification. Similar to Deki.
I think it will be quite a bit more favourable to Roma then the Deki deal both from a overall fee and trigger clause perspective. I wouldn’t be surprised if the total fee ended up in the £45 mil range with further add ons down the line for caps etc considering how highly he is rated. I guess it’s a case of figuring out the nuances so we are best protected from an injury stand point. Can’t be an easy deal to do even tho Roma are happy to sell.

A loan with an obligation or option to buy sounds pretty sensible, considering Zaniolo previous injuries.

I'm not at all impressed with Tanganga being touted about it seems. I'd preferred we kept hold of him but as well I get not all our development players will make the grade and some will have to be sold.

I’m happy with Tanganga going, he isn’t up to the level we need.

A loan with an obligation - is still a purchase, at a set price...

I think you wanted a loan with an option - which Roma probably would not go for.

Depends on the deal. You can have a deal where there's an obligation to buy provided certain criteria are met e.g. playing a certain number of games. That would give some protection.

Unless the obligation would be contingent on certain milestones, as in the Deki deal.

Edit: TheHodFather beat me to it.

But what if Conte wants him? Because that seemed to be the theme since Conte has arrived here...

50m is a hell of alot of money for someone who has had injury issues. I would love to just give em the four players we are trying to sell... and just be done with it.
