His contract is winding down and there were rumors after the last window that he was keen to sign on for the long term. That never ended up happening and he's said he wanted to leave.

Yeah but wasnt that because theyre barely giving him a contract worth discussing... then they wanted him to leav eso he said he wanted to leave - just seems like one of those situations that is engineered to make him the bad guy

If he holds power in personally rejecting Bournemouth and Milan doesn't move for him, I wonder if Roma could be forced to accept a Kulu-like deal if we were to offer one. Option unless certain goal/assist conditions are met and if so then becomes obligation?

Would there be any reason for Roma not to accept a loan with option at this point?

I mean, their alternatives are to either have to pay the salary for a player they will barely be able to use, or get a loan fee or the salary paid for the rest of the season.

Think this is kinda what we offered? A loan with option but it had a clause for if we qualified for the CL. I may be wrong however.

Then I'm surprised there hasn't been more resurfacing of the links to us from this if Milan in fact left the table too. Something tells me they'd still be sniffing around if the price continues to drop.

Much more likely they agree to the loan and option we proposed opposed to the loan and obligation they insisted on.

No idea if we will revisit this but it wouldn't surprise me as Roma will be desperate to ship him out.

I think their idea of a solution is him moving to Bournemouth so they get €30m.
